What did you do to your 996 today?

"I‘ll have to pick up some 2“ heat shrink in case it ever happens again. ( or to help others )"
Just make sure you get the "marine grade"(as mentioned earlier) or the "out door/direct burial" type with the hot glue inside - or you could develop a vacuum leak...

Thanks. I stock some spare 996 parts, so I don’t have to wait if I need them, or to help others if they need something right away.
I used to stock BMW parts too,but started running out of room and gave most of them away.
Most of the cars I work on are older Domestic and Asian, but occasionally I get to work on European cars.

Changed the parking bulbs in the headlights. And mounted a rear view camera. Just so everyone knows, pushing a wire through that grommet in the back is a MAJOR %#*&^$ pain ... not to mention all the interior trim and carpet on the passenger side had to be removed. And bumper, but that was easy. Found alot of loose crap that we tightened up, though.

How do you like those ramps? Do you use them in the back to change the oil too?

I use them for oil changes on all cars EXCEPT the Porsche........Porsche oil change is done by just using the slope of the driveway...I get enough clearance to do it while keeping the car relatively flat

I finally was able to get Mobil 1 5w-40 replaced with Driven DT-40. I had dropped the oil off at my indy probably 6 weeks ago and then the world went crazy, work went crazy, and we couldn't sync our schedules until this morning. Two previous UOA indicated excess oxidation and hence the change in oil. 6 months or 5k, whichever comes first, and i'll do a 3rd UOA.

I changed my 6 year old, H8 battery (that read 11.8V at full charge) with a new H6 battery. I saved almost 10 lbs.
I know it can't be true, but I swear the car sounds better now.

I finally received everything I needed to finish my UAOS install + maintenance.
In addition to the AOS, I also replaced my oil filler tube, vacuum hoses, vacuum hardline, vacuum elbows, vacuum tees, idler pulleys, intake gaskets, t-connector, coolant hoses, and AOS hoses. ( a lot of while you’re in there stuff)
I swapped out my Ben‘s plenum and GT3 throttle body for the original factory one.
The Ben‘s plenum AOS connection is different and I decided to not modify the UAOS.
I‘ll keep the Ben‘s plenum and GT3 TB for a future car...or I might just sell/trade them.
I learned some new tips that really make R&Ring the AOS a lot easier.
I‘ll post those tips when I get a chance in the UAOS Tips and Tricks Thread.
The UAOS runs under 5 in/H2O.
The best thing is I hadn’t driven my 996 in almost 3 weeks, so it felt awesome on the short test drive.
I should probably repeat the test drive soon...just in case.
Here are some finished photos:
