Agree, very easy to photograph at night, unlike red cars.

You probably can't tell but it's actually Seal Gray.

I like Seal Gray for some reason.

Well, I never thought that spacers were worth the cost due to how little they changed anything.
But...I picked up some VERY cheap used 10mm spacers a LONG time ago.
They have just set in the box with the longer lug bolts, which I didn't need.
With COVID-19 keeping me home, and the fact that my stud kit is good for up to 10mm spacers,
I decided to give them a try last night.
Here's before and after pictures:

Before

After

OK, I guess there is more of a difference than I expected, and it looks better, and the price was good.
But I could only get 6 turns of the lug nut on the stud.
I've decided that's not enough, especially for when I AutoX and when tracking my 996, so...I ordered 14mm longer studs for the rear of my car.
I just hope that I receive them before I go back to work.
Triple digits (yes occasionally) with just 6 threads doesn't sound safe, so I'll remove them if I end up going into work before I receive them.

Wow you hit a hundred on the way to work? Nice. Unless you're using kilometres per hour. If that's the case, I do a hundred in my driveway....

The spacer looks good. It might even look better out in the driveway, away from the trash cans.

Part of my daily drive home is wide open on wide freeways.
Triple digits are a possibility, although I normally keep it 90mph and under.
I could do triple on the way to work, but by the time the oil is up to temperature (6 miles-ish) I've run into traffic.
By miles 10, I'm in stop and go traffic.

It was raining last night, so I didn't want to move the recycle can out into the rain.
The red trashcan got moved though so I could get to the left rear wheel.

A went for a leisurely post work-from-home stress relief drive on the interstate and a BMW gave me a reason to be less leisurely. At 135 he got a good look at my 4s’ beautiful rear.

Spacers are great, make a big difference in how it looks imo. The 10s look good.

Cleaned MAF, throttle body, and K&N filter. The air filter is drying overnight because I waited too late in the day to get some sunshine drying action. I'll oil it up and put it back in tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll get rid of the 1128 and 1130 codes that I keep having to clear.

Be careful on the use of spacers. About 12 years ago I attended a workshop where some guru mechanics from Porsche were explaining wheels/tires/spacers to our local club. Bottom line is that unless Porsche makes and officially allows a spacer/lug nut combo, it is very iffy. They were very adamant that it's VERY dangerous.

Bottom line in my 20+ years of owning Porsche's - I trust the Porsche engineers over anyone else, hands down. (yes, I know about Jake and the crappy AOS)

I heard horror stories about issues with spacers back in the 80s and 90s when I was racing.
That's another reason why I've always been hesitant to use them.
It was usually due to someone using them on a car with studs and the studs were not long enough.
Also lug nut torque was not checked.

Porsche sells 5mm spacers for the GT3.
I had thought about going with those, but I have the 10mm ones already so I finally figured, "why not?"
I'm going to replace my 56mm rear studs with 70mm ones before I drive very far.
I'll definitely be checking torque for the first few hundred miles.

Woohoo, new longer studs should be here on Saturday.
So if I end up having to go to work on Monday, I'll be ready with longer studs and 10mm spacers.
New job...I've been working from home since I started on April 1st.
Finally will get to meet everyone face to face...or mask to mask...soon I hope.

Unboxed it.
This will be interesting because I haven't assembled a model since the last flu pandemic in 1918.

Well not just today, I tore the car apart back in October for a bunch of work and finally got it done today, my reason for so long, my 94 year old father started having problems and I had to help Mom and Dad, he pass away in March and continue to help Mom with everything till this day, taxes,,bills and rental properties.. shelter in place didn't help any. finally finished doing all Spark plugs and coils, I used Denso iridium TT at .031 gaps, replace the water pump and low temps thermostat, also did the motor mounts and tranny mount. I really enjoyed using the vacuum lift coolant system on the antifreeze fill for the first timel. only thing left is to install the UAOS system when Skip ships it. Car drove great, smooth gear box operation with new mounts. Happy to have the car back.
