Put in a new wp and 160* t-stat. The old wp bearing felt like marbles so im glad i changed it. I also found out my aos is failing. It tested over 13 in at idle so ordering a new one to go with the uaos i already have.
Since i have to wait for the aos im gonna order as many of the soft coolent hoses i can find since most of them feel pretty bad. Off to find the diagrams.
well autoatlanta just got me for a bunch of money. I think i just ordered every soft line and clamp on the car for the coolant. Also got a few things for the uaos install and the latest resi cap.

Went for a drive with my son's white C4S so I was just a passenger. We followed my friend (other C4S in picture who took us on some nice windy roads. It was really cool seeing the pleasure my son got from driving the car he bought a few weeks ago from his savings

Me: This project is going to go great.
Also me: Throws wrench into the woods.
I started removing my mufflers, all things considering I only snapped 1 bolt. The muffler bracket bolts are also a real pain in the butt.

I did the same years ago when I was ready to install fabspeed supercups...as I was taking out the stock mufflers....one side was real easy but the other was frozen solid....so I put everything I had into it, and it snapped. Right then I realized, I was torquing the wrong way....wish I had a woods!!!

I definitely second-guessed myself on the direction a few times, it's hard when it's so rusted and tight. I am 80% of the way there on the mufflers, I just need to do the 3 bolts on the pass side muffler bracket, they were actually easy to break loose on the first side just a pain in the butt to get to. All of the hardware for the brackets has so far been in good shape, soaking them now to clean them up. Have new tailpipe clamps and muffler/cat pipe clamps on the way. This should also make doing spark plugs a breeze.

I've lived in a dry part of the western US my entire life and not used to stuff like this at all. I don't know how you east coast guys do it. I hope you tip your mechanics extra.
Removing the mufflers makes the spark plugs and coils a breeze. I can't believe people actually do that job without removing them.

Cleaned out the front radiators. The amount of crap that fell out leads me to believe it may have never been done before. Radiators did clean up nice and neat, however.
Also installed the engine skid/protector plate that was missing when I bought the car.
Took it out for a very nice drive in the rain.

Mufflers, coils, and packs all removed. Coils look to be in decent shape, with no visible cracks. One plug has a small amount of oil on it. I have coils coming, I have no idea how old my coils are, should I replace them all them while they are out?

How difficult was it to remove the coils? Then "you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky? ' Well do ya, punk??
