Conti's on the 18" 5 spokes. The tires have plenty of tread but getting to the end of useful life.

my first priority is fitment w lowered suspension , I'm hoping 4 better ride quality, being a little larger, but if worse, I'll suffer until I replace the Pilots ( problably sooner rather than later.

Only wheel that I considered besides possibly some 40th anniversary wheels. I had them before on different P cars and MB's .

Expensive but I got a great deal from Rennlister..

Dealer fixed my CLS in my 2002 C4 Cab by replacing the driver's side door latch and also serviced the roof (leak tested (no leaks found), added fluid and bled lines). Cost me $1.1k.

Discovered from my manual that the CLS can be coded 4 different ways. Bringing it back to get it coded to lock when ignition is turned on and relock if opened and driven again w/o turning off ignition. Service rep will comp the recoding. Also discovered that spoiler cover was further damaged (one side as partially loose but fully loose) after the roof work. Not claiming that dealer did it but got rep to also comp the "labor -- only 4 screws but was scheduled for 1 hr @ $210 - for the part which is still ridiculously priced at about $500 plus tax).

Additional work pending receipt of spoiler cover. Also still waiting for the wheel lock key #58 which was previously ordered.

True but the CLS and wheel lock key was a dealer only fixable problem. Really couldn't save much on any of the parts purchased through dealer. So that's a wash.

Actually quite happy w/the treatment I've received from WC Porsche where the car's being serviced for the particular "problems" noted.

However, for all other work on my 911, MB ML350 and BMW 335i, I use my local indie shop, who where the labor cost is always lower and who will install parts that I buy as cheaply as possible online.

I do very little of my own work now; too old/lazy to do so.

Last weekend I built my homemade slack tube manometer and checked the operation of the AOS. After I returned from a 30+ minute trip, the crankcase vacuum was exactly -5” water column at hot idle. I am pretty happy with that reading.

It was pretty easy to build, maybe took a half an hour to build counting rounding up the stuff that I already had in my garage. My oil fill/manometer adapter was made out of a 2” rubber Fernco pipe cap. I had ordered an oil cap, but the one that arrived did not fit my car. It must be for a 944 or an air cooled engine.

Refilled my AC with R134a after replacing a crushed low pressure line under the passenger side of the car.

Harbor freight finest...

tested cold air output after charge and am getting about 39 degrees on a 65 degree day.

^^^ Nice DIY! Where do you actually take your measurement? And, how do you calibrate? I don't see any marks or measurements on the hose?

I need to do this on my car eventually, probably same spot as yours! Why Porsche didn't put a cover for that spot behind the passenger front wheel escapes me!

I think that picture was taken the day before I did the actual test. This was the image from the test:

The camera angle does not show the reference marks in a true fashion. The dimension from start point to hot idle vacuum is 2-1/2” (x2 equals 5”).

That's some good DIY work.

I appreciate the kind words. I am not in the same league as some of the esteemed colleagues, but, I like to contribute if and when I can.

Thanks again,

Threw on some Avant Garde 19 inch wheels. I bought them off of a 997 owner. They have Bridgestone Potenza S-04s on them (235/35/19 - 295/35/19). Haven’t felt any rubbing in my short jaunt around the neighborhood. You guys think the tears stick out too much?

better pix to follow once I get her cleaned tomorrow.
