Um OK aren't you worried about swirls and/or even worse the wheels getting scratched curb rash from the device that rolls the car through? I do not like washing my car either but I take it to the touchless car wash where the car stays still and the washing machinery rotates around the car never touching it
I have to agree with the above statements. My main concern is the wheel brushes lurking at the end of the line. Most people don't see them. Many of them are carbide tipped to make sure muddy wheels get cleaned.
Flywheel has been added to the list. I am gong to leave the rusted crappy bolts for another time. Frustrating that those bolts rusted to such an extent.
Sounds good, keep up the good attitude. Expect several phone calls during the process and budget for potentially +20% for other items (ex: my valve covers were leaking, etc.).
Finally got a new remote key from Suncoast and had it programmed at the dealer. $154 for the key with electronics, and $175 to program. Seems par for the course for a key replacement (is what I keep telling myself). I also installed an aux input on my PCM1 after getting very annoyed the cassette Bluetooth setup.
REplaced the horn plate and put the fuse B3 back in, finally, and changed out the air filters. While doing that, the oil filler tube broke neatly in half. Damn..
So it’s back to the shop on Monday.
Almost done with interior refresh. Seat covers on their way. Repainted all interior plastics an OEM gray and changed the shift **** to a 997 one from IXI Gears. Looks fantastic. Had to shave the shifter ever so slightly to fit it perfectly, but it is nice and tight now. Can't wait to drive the car...

You reused the stock boot I see? Did you have to cut it off the original shift ****?

my car had the upgraded shift **** / boot combo that aren’t attached. It was extremely difficult to remove it because the screw was stuck and i had to drill it out. The new **** is a bit shorter so the boot fit perfectly. I need to dye the leather but was anxious to see how it came out. Very happy with it.
I bought mine off an Ebay seller. Josephina Auto Covers in North Hollywood, CA. They are custom made by them. As soon as they are installed I promise to post a picture. They weren’t cheap so crossing my fingers they are nice. Saw pictures and they look good.

I’m not the OP, but I did the same thing for my rennline shift ****. I took a razor knife and cut around the circumference of the stock **** to separate it from the rest of the boot/frame assembly, then I installed it on my replacement ****. The first time I used a zip tie to attach the boot to the rennline ****, but didn’t like the bulk (in particular, where the bump is on the end of the zip tie), so I swapped it out for a loop of safety wire. I tried aftermarket shift boots, but never found one that I loved. My biggest gripe was the thickness of the leather on the replacements. The stock boot is very thin leather, so it gathers better at the junction with the ****.
