Those are truly spectacular runs I can't see them being beaten unless someone wants to build a car specifically for 100-200kph/60-130mph.

Markski, do you have any data from these runs going higher up which you could post, 140-150mph or did you have to pull the chute at 130

Edit: Those 0.9G it second gear are completely crazy, how do you get the grip ? -you are doing 62-84mph in 1 second

Talking

Insanely fast car, Marek.

Any guesses to what HP it takes to propel a car that weighs about (edit) 3220 lbs, with
stock gearing to accomlish what Mark has accomplished?
They are not done yet, it may improve further.
If you havent seen his Burnout videos (I know, Ferry is spinning 6 feet under),
the motor that Proto built for Mark is Sick, Sick, Sick!!

AMrty, Todd corner balanced the car the other day and he came up with 3220 lbs... so I have no idea why the other scale was off.

Marsky, if 3220 lbs is your weight with a full tank that is quite light, my CTR-2 is 3375 with a full tank and no water cooling. Do you have lightweight parts on your car.

markski,
With your axle problems have you considered speaking with Robert Linton @ Cartridge to see if he might be able to engineer a solution for you? I shudder to think of the costs involved but at the rate you're going it might save you some money.

Lat,
my car is RWD, GT3 seats.... etc...

Jason,
Well the current ones are under warranty... Im the first one to have them installed. I dont have problems from a roll... just the shock at the starting gate is brutal... the car pops wheelies...
I believe it will be a back and forth thing til we get it right. no one is launching their cars with 1.5 60ft. so we have no way of comparing any other axles to mine... whats it to say that someone elses will hold up.... Im not getting wheel hop at all so that is not causing the problem.

It shouldn't be that difficult to calculate the forces involved and then (the slightly more difficult part) design something that will withstand those forces. If you get stuck give him a holler.

Hi there

I was wonderin how these times compare, the car is not a Porsche but I am considering a Porsche TT for my next car.

I've datalog my car using some tuning software and a laptop so the timing is very accurate, this is what I got:-

40-120mph using only 3rd gear = 11s
60-120mph using only 3rd gear = 8.7s
60-130mph with one shift, 3rd-4th = 10.5s
62-125mph (100-200kmh) with one shift 3rd-4th = 9.5

How do those compare?

I am gonna do them again as now the car is fully run in and also find a smoother road so it grips better.

Here's one point to compare: a standard 993tt takes about 12 seconds for the 60-130 run and needs two gear changes. So 10.5 seconds is quite good. What's the car? It would appear that you can do 120mph in third gear and that 125 mph requires 4th gear. That seems like a very tall 3rd gear! Is it an automatic?

Hi there

The car is a 2005 Saleen Mustang S281 SC with 450RWHP. Its a manual but is has a 3.55 rear-end with large 20" wheels which obviously pushes top speed up in each gear. 120mph is 6600rpm and the limiter is at 6800rpm.

Ok, I have managed to do a run with an AX22, it was in the "time between speeds" mode so I have no graph. It shows 10.94 seconds over a distance of 1637ft, my car is a 930 that weighs 1470kgs with a full tank and me in it. I have the 4 speed box which contrary to popular belief does not do 130mph in third as I found out today, it also seams my speedo is WAY off! So to summarise

1470kg 930
Two (signal box stylee) changes, 2nd-3rd, 3rd-4th
10.94secs with a distance of 1637ft

BHP = ?

If you can be bothered hacking through the many posts regarding the AX22 you will learn that for some (not understood) reason the "time between speeds" mode seems to give inaccurate times - the only way to be sure is to do it in "continuous" mode and if you really want verification to send the file to Jean who will (usually) graciously do a check on your data for errors.
But hey..... at least you gave it a shot which is a pretty rare occurrance on here
