Colin i think the next mod should be a 993tt engine stuck in the back, keep your ear to the ground for one

bb993tt, i've got size 11's so i look like a clown as it is

Jean, i have PM'd you a file in continuous mode, i've tried to work out how to use the sofware but basically i'm crap! I know it's not a quick run but i'd apreciate it if you could have a look and maybe post a graph. From what i can tell it's around 10.5 seconds, what i did notice though is that it looks like i'm getting 60-120mph in about 7.25 seconds, that last 10mph in 4th gear is slow!! Thanks for taking a look

Edit, OK i was a little premature saying i had PM'd you, i've noticed there is no facility to add an attachment through the link in your profile, i'll send the file to Colin and hopefully he will forward it for me

...personally, I think you are running rich at the mid, to top-end. Trim that out and you may find those times drop.

Hi James
When Colin had it on the rollers he said it was still getting slightly lean at the top, like you said before i could do with a wide band thingy so i could see what it was doing, i don't doubt that it's rich in the middle, most CIS cars are aren't they? BTW, what do you think of 60-120 in 7.25 seconds? I think if i could get 130mph in third i could do a sub 9 second run, which would be cool!

Hi everybody,

a stock 993tt WLS2 with 450hp does 62-125mph in 9,02 seconds ... measurement was done with a very precise device called driftbox (driftbox.de)

Same car with a tweaked motronic by HEIDL and sport catalysts with modified exhaust (approx. 500 hp) did in in 7.95 seconds. Same day, same road, same weather conditions.

Cheers
Tom

Hi Tom,

could you extract the 60-130mph times for both runs?

ciao,
Stefan

If I can interject the timing's I've taken today in my CGT on a 'test' facility local to me. 1/4 tank fuel (Shell VPower), one podgy driver and 23 degrees on the computer, ran without the air con. Device is a Racelogic drift box (w hich you can see in the front screen). Car's done 9.5k miles so nicely run in.

Starting in 2nd, finishing in 4th after 3 runs best time was 7.4 seconds. Gearshift on this car is the best I've encountered.

Finale to 350 miles over the last couple of days.

1.5 seconds faster than the other CGT with the Shell V-Power!

Do you have 60-130s for the red one?

The red one is a MK1 GT3 with a Manthey K400 conversion and a few other bits and bobs. I'm on track this week in it so I'll run some times if 'traffic' allows.

Thanks for sharing
The three German mag tests yeilded the following 100-200kph (62.1-124.4mph) times for CGTs:
7.1s
6.4s
6.9s

Typically the 60-130mph takes another~1s at these levels so your 7.4s is excellent I guess you ran with no passenger whilst the above tests have two people....

The CGT at the vmax day was about as fast as my car (up to ~140) running 520hp and 60-130 in 8.5s.

No passenger just me @ 13.5 stone and light on fuel. I also had the hood panels despite the balmy weather!

MOD500 occasionaly enquires what the CGT's like, I tell him it's rubbish! After seeing some pictures of the roads he and you? have access to we'll have to arrange a meet up one of these days. Obviously you'll have to give me a bit of a head start TB!

My 4WD is going back on (for self preservation) so at 7.4s 60-130 your awesome machine will be in its rightful place

Thumbs up 60-130 mph in 5.93 for 996 GT2

This was V-box run verified by KPG (Jean's AX-22 counterpart).

996 GT2 stock internals but having full Protomotive (Arkansas, USA)
Horsepower Enhancement kit including WATER COOLED
Garret GT30 turbos and all things necessary to make these mothers
breathe...(ie.,Proto custom headers, custom intake and throttle body,
MAF, bigger injectors, modded fuel system etc.).

Toby, this one's for you !!

Quite an accomplishment on stock heads, cams, pistons, connecting rods,
crank, etc I would say!!!

Marty K.
