The one K24 is describing sounds like the Profec Type - S. Also evolved from the original Profec B.

David, from the looks of your turbo, it appears that you have a GT42R mated to a Precision Turbo compressor housing.. Does your bearing housing have the water ports plugged?

Great video! I timed it using a precise video editor and got 60 to 130 in 5.2 seconds! Unless the speedo is way off, that's incredible, especially when starting at 60!

The speedo issue is an interesting one. The post below was written by Ruf Racer who seems to have a lot of experience in open road racing in a modified 993tt where they verify high speeds:
My experience is that the digital & analog speedometers are very nonlinear above 90-100 mph. On my car I would say 185 digital is closer to 175 GPS indicated. Two hundred actual would translate to about 220 digital indicated. At 205 the digital & analog are way off!Come to think of it I have never looked but I do have tape!At my next event @ Battle Mountain Nevada I hope to gather calibrated data including a 100-150-->>200 time!BTW,Bill the ABS quits above 330kph and the panel lights glow brightly!Did you change your top gear?
With the 930 speedo being designed with a 160mph maximum in mind one wonders how far out that will be near its top speed compared to a 993tt speedo which will do around 190mph stock - Its still @*!^kin fast 'tho

somewhere in minnesota,
date: 4-9-05
temperature: 75 degrees, sunny, humid and windy
gas: 93 octane (Holiday with ethenol/blend)
boost pressure: 1.0 bar or slightly less
my car: (Woodster): first run == 12 seconds flat
next run = 11.8 seconds
the good doctors car first run = 9.4 seconds
next run = 9.2 seconds
both cars are identically equipped with kevin's stage 2 z/c,
protomotive software, greddy boost controllers set very conservatively.
my car is clearly not building boost, holding boost or timing is being
pulled for some reason. the doctor's car felt much faster when i drove
it!, 2.5 seconds difference is huge. I show from previous thread that
stock 993tt from car and driver was 13.4, new 505 hp viper 2005 was
9.5 and Ruf turbo R was 8.7. this is easy measurement to do and
confirmed my suspicions that something is wrong with my car.

Same driver for all runs, (me). Same timer for all runs, (fellow rennlister). I bought new digital
stopwatch and practiced timing some turtle races. We had digital video camera with us but
didnt have a way to mount it and didnt want a third person in the car. Afterwards we went out
with my buddy's viper and all went for a drive. the doc's car is very fast and he said it "felt"
even stronger with the k-24 gt2 turbos that he used to have. (excuse me a moment I am donning
my flame suit). My shop is determining what is wrong with my car this week and I know that
this type of testing is not super accurate but I needed to establish a baseline and compare it
to doc's car with same mods.

Ok a few runs made this morning.. I still need to fine tune the exact timing from the video but directionally here is what I have:
Stock 996TT, 2 people on board, about 170 kgs both. 60-130mph, around 11.9 sec.
Viper RT 10 Stock, 2 people on board 180 kgs.both..60-130 mph around 12 sec.
My car, 993TT, full tank, 2 people on board 150 Kgs both. 60-130 mph, around 8.9 sec.
Starting in second gear, car weight 1340 kgs approximately, FVD engine, can improve a little with better shifting (less rev limiter). Temperature 37 degrees Celsius.
Mitsubishi EVO 7 stock, later today.

Marty
I don't know much about the engine yet, I bought it over the phone without asking questions as it was sold to me by a friend... The ECU has on it "FVD 550" and I know it has mechanical rockers. it does have very good torque, so it could be 3.8 ltr... Turbos are K24/26 apparently as well. Boost levels are controlled by Motronic, I don't have a manual boost guage so can't tell how high it is going. The fuel I used is really crappy, around 91 octane.
It is a very nice engine no doubt, the turbos sound like the ones on a turbo diesel eighteen wheeler as I don't have sound proofing, you can hear them breathing, wastegates dumping, whistling etc.. a concert!.
