The easiest way of changing them is to cut them off flush & drill them through from above, insert new button headed cap screws from underneath & tack weld them onto the base of the original stud. You can't see the mod from the engine bay as it will be hidden by the sound deadening pad.

It's Blue!!
The boys have been really busy today and as well as laying the first coats of primer on the GT3 repair they have also managed to paint the upper body of the Speedster in its blue primer coat. We have a colour scheme for the primer so that as well as matching the colour of the original primer of a car for a repair, we can also pick the colour on a complete repaint to match the basecoat colour, which in this instance is going to be Cobalt.
Not long now Graham!!

I am so mechanically inept that the posts up to now are sorta lost on me. But seeing the primed body is a real turn on, and it will be great watching it come together. Pretty much like viewing in slo-mo a super exclusive assembly line for one-off cars.
Great, great effort!

Thanks for the thumbs up, I'll pass on your comments to Marc and the rest of his 9m Panelcraft team.

I've been too busy with work (I'm very pleased to say!) to get across this week to have a look at my 'growing child'. The pictures look absolutely brill Colin - just lacquer that shade of blue and I'd be happy!
Please just keep posting progress pictures!
Thanks Graham

OK, will do, but you need to keep a lookout over the next 24 hrs as (hopefully) by close of play tomorrow the shell will be back on the spit with its underside freshly covered in stone chip; dry over the weekend and blue primed come Monday morning.
Then if all goes to plan it should see full colour on the floor, engine bay, under bonnet & interior before the week is out.

This mornings update:
Here's Marc and Lee fitting the upper body brace in readiness for the shell being loaded back onto the rotary spit. At this stage with a finished shell this is probably an unnecessary precaution as the shell will be stiff enough without it, however since we have it we may as well use it!

And here is the shell loaded onto the rotisserie ready for the work on its underbelly.
