just seems strange to go up +10% when already approaching ceiling values?

It's a demoralizing tactic for those creeping at $1000 increments. Maybe he had another meeting to go to
Mike Tyson famously said, "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." This response was to a reporter's question regarding whether he was worried about Evander Holyfield's fight plan 👍

A ton of grey interior supply just cleared without market skipping a beat -- and somehow there is still disbelief about auction processes/ceilings. Pretty clear 993 widebodys are not slowing down.

Looks like Holt took the price down. Did anyone call to inquire?

They probably took it down after seeing the comments here about the low price. Coming back with an additional $25k convenience fee.

edit; The car shows to be sold now.

I kinda get it. You get your heart set on a childhood dream that may never come along again (miles, condition, color and options) and have the disposable income to tie up. Then you convince yourself it's an "investment" then all bets are off and common sense gets set aside.

Isn’t that the essence of sports car ownership? 😁

I have an itch that my better judgement knows I should never scratch...a Lamborghini Diablo.

Forget who inquired about the Holt car - I am local, and putting eyeballs on that car are just a PM away (noticed last night they replaced the price with "call for price".

Do you think this is appropriate? I'm asking my insurance company to increase my agreed value to $180,000.
1997 C2S. 50k miles. I'm the third owner but have owned the car since January of 2001 (20 year history). No accidents. Always garaged.
Arctic Silver/Black, 6MT, factory hard back sport seats, factory aerokit, LSD, Motorsound, Cruise, Sunroof, Aluminum gauges, shifter, brake and some other options I'm forgetting. Debadged from factory. Porsche crests in headrest.
It's got a new OEM clutch. New evaporator and expansion valves. recently done Rennline upper and lower valve covers. Chainbox timing reseal on both banks. 4 new Michelin MPSS. New OEM brake pads. Full service history and docs. PSS9's, SSK, (some other Rennlist approved mods) stereo upgrade, etc. but I have all the original parts including the original head unit and suspension. I even have the amber turn signals and original Slave. I upgraded to MPL Slave.

No problems with the doors. Never had any repair work done on them.

Yes, quite appropriate even if you built in some additional value accumulation. I did the same, in case some texting citizen takes me out.
As my father told me, insurance is a game where you are betting you lose and the company bets they win.

The Diablo was the poster on my wall, and I keep on looking at them/thinking: "How bad could it be?"

Wow 180k. I was going to go $140k on my C4S. I would think $160k would be good for a 50k miles C2s, but nothing wrong with getting more.

Never meet your heroes.

2009 I saw a guy post on Fchat that he was bringing his new-to-him Countach to a cars and coffee about an hour from me. Woke up early, drove the Elise to the location, and sure enough, there it was in a relatively empty coffee house parking lot. Six guys sitting around a table, I walk in and ask for the owner of the Countach. Tell him I came all the way just to see it. He says - "here's the keys". He could tell I was uncomfortable with the idea, so he walks out with me and tells me to start it. It was awful. The dash, the claustrophobic cabin, crazy heavy clutch, the angry idle upon start up and the half window and scissor door that was more like a guillotine...he then says "want to drive it?" I politely said no thanks.

He proceeded to stall the car trying to get out of the spot. Great guy - we ended up a couple organized drives together. He eventually sold it.

I am 6 foot 4in and couldn’t agree with you more. Driven many 89’ and prior Countach…. For a few minutes couldn’t take any more. Terrible to drive, heavy clutch, zero visibility out the back, handle like crap, A/C is Luke warm on a good day, pedal box is extremely tight, maybe fit a single patty burger through the side window that goes down about 4 inches. Cool to look at but not a driver.
