Just a matter of perspective I suppose. Did you miss the market on the 550 in terms of them selling for less? Yes.

Looking at it another way, 993's and F355's are trading for much higher than original window sticker and 550's for less.

the 993 chart below includes all 993 BaT results, but if you focus on the high range for the 993 and the 355, you'll see they practically mirror each other. WBs also bottomed well before Covid. WBs have also been going up for a while now. the move over the last 3+ years is very much on par, with maybe a 5-10% nod to the 355 on value.

i realize that everyone is still trying to absorb the loss of our friend rudy, so i hope this does not seem inappropriate at this time.

Minutes to go and that pcar S is still below $100K.

Edit - sold for $121K. 34K miles. That is well below what I would have thought.

Not surprised at all…. like I have been saying, it’s just a Carerra S. A C2 with a Wide Body Shell nothing more. More importantly, this car was bastardized… “face palm” those wheels are hideous not a fan at all on that particular BBS Wheel on a 993, yellow calipers that were never that color except the Turbo S, that dumb Carrera S decal on the bottom of the doors, 9 owners, damage reported on CarFax, just not an original car. That Tan interior which I would avoid like the plague! Personally that is still strong money for what it is.

Come on @Gbos1 . Yes that 993 is not an "original car" with BBS wheels, yellow calipers and carrera s decal... but based on your signature, neither is yours with 996tt wheels, recaro seats, and rennline bits etc (and you even have a similar decal). I personally like the way this car is modded and the only "major" reason why it didn't bring more money is the damage report and nine owners. Just my $0.02

Damage and 9 owners. That’s it. The rest is fixable and a matter of taste.

My car came from “Porsche Classic” and was put there by Classic at the Porsche Classic Center similar to the Porsche Museum cars and documented by Porsche Classic. BTW my car will never be for sale so that comment is Moot!

@Gbos1 , understood and congrats that your car came from Porsche Classic. It's contradictory when you're making comments about someone's mods are "bastardizing" their car when you are doing the same on your car. At the end of the day, we all mod our cars to our taste, liking and personality. Yes, if we all leave the cars untouched, it'll bring in top dollar...but what fun is that. I think (or hope) we buy our cars for enjoyment in mind and not maximizing resale value. The seller of the black c2s modded it to their liking (which I think looks good) and sold it for good money. To me, that's a win-win.

I am just stating the obvious here nothing more. My “opinion is” the car was not to my “taste.” I think I have the right to my opinion right? If he would have returned it to stock I bet the price would have went higher.

I have every single original part from my car that was taken off and fully reversible but will never sell this car and will be passed on down. $60k worth of modding later I might break even in 2040 Don’t care.

See that “Porsche Classic Decal” on my lower doors…. That was put there by the “Porsche Gods.” Fully documented from Classic.

Yes you're entitled to your opinion, no matter how "obvious" it is only to you I'm very happy for you (seriously) that you were able to snag a classic and wish you many more years of enjoyment. With what's transpired the last 24 hours, let's be thankful for what we have (no matter how bastardized it may be ) and enjoy life. Happy motoring @Gbos1 !
