That's actually the first one I've seen with silver gauges that say "Carrera S" on them. Thought only the black gauges had that for 2S's. But $160k with 82k miles?? I kind of hope he gets that but also kind of don't.

Actually it’s the other way around.
People here went apoplectic when the speedo was brought up on the Silver Arrow Cars black ‘98 S on BaT.

becks european caused the Speedo drama on BAT when it was discovered in 12/2021 that he attempted to sell a 993 in 2019 with a tampered with Speedo/ODO and didn’t disclose it.

The speedo/ODO issue did start on BAT and goes back to a reserve not met BAT auction in 2019. The seller was beckseuropean and can be found here: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...911-carrera-9/

No disclosure of a potential issue was made in the 2019 auction. Last month (December 2021) the same car was on BAT again: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...-cabriolet-29/

Ground zero for the speedo issue was this post in the 2021 auction when it was revealed that a possible TMU issue existed:

The rest of the story can be found at the link above (if you have insomnia or like BAT drama).

Tony, Tony, Tony. 😂

In the final analysis it’s up to a buyer to conduct his own due diligence. I don’t believe a seller has any obligation to advertise an odo repair; it’s completely elective. However, they are obligated NOT TO feign outrage or be offended if someone asks about it.

BTW: What exactly did I do to make you burn with so much anger against me? Besides proving you wrong on the fac welded door check strap brackets?

This thread has been ruined with all this odometer talk, I’m shopping for a 993 wide body and wouldn’t Ask for an odometer to be removed unless there was evidence of foul play and the cars condition looked worn compared to miles.

thread was much more enjoyable before all this ridiculous odometer conspiracy talk
