I'm new to the forum, my account has nit yet been improved by the admin yet.

I'm German and live near Hamburg, Germany.
While I'm selling my own 993 4s with 37.300 miles on it, last week I spent a huge amount of time to create a chart to analyse price for the Porsche 993 4s and 993 S.
In that chart, I incorporated data from:

• USA auction results from BAT and Gooding
• USA current asking prices
• European asking prices, Italy, France, UK, Norway, Switzerland, Netherlands and Germany

My chart shows the prices in relation to mileage.
I also figured out the cost per mile at any given mileage of a particular car.
In short, a car with 100 K plus miles is worth about $ 100 K or less, in other word, such a car will create a decrease of value of about $ 1,00 declining
A car with approx. 30 K - 50 K miles will be worth $ 3,5 to $ 6 -7 per mile
Cars with under 10 K miles are worth $ 15 to $ 135 per miles, in other words, owning a car with such low mileage will cost you a decrease in value at about $ 135 per driven miles, that number decreasing by mile.

Regarding prices in Europe, you may consider this advertisement by 'Pannhorst' classic cars, a well known dealership for high end cars and very high end prices:

What makes you doubt my German identity? That's quite funny.
Do I need to prove it?

I speak fluent English, having lived and studied in San Francisco from 1988 - 1990, finishing my MFA.

From 2008 - 2016, I've visited the USA about 15 times, buying 15 cars, mostly Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2.
During that time I traveled more than 50.000 miles to find the cars.
The USA always felt like home to me.

He is making a friendly joke that you obviously have an exacting and meticulous nature that we Americans attribute to Germans, who are regarded highly for their efficiency and ingenuity, whether it is creating graphs like the one you shared or the Porsche cars we all love. Thank you again for sharing it! And, as someone who has always felt at home in Germany, I'm very glad you feel that way about our country.

For some reason, I seem to remember that a car being non-factory/heavily modified can factor into whether US customs will allow it in. Would have to research that further.

On another note, the Speed Yellow C2S with 116k miles on BaT just sold for $118k. I saw some comments to the effect that the hammer price was proof the market has softened, but is that really true in this case? I would think a C2S with that mileage, even in an uncommon/desirable color like SY, would have gone for similar money earlier this year.

Considering the light due diligence given to this 116,000 mile C2S that didn’t question engine compression, it’s highly likely at this mileage that the engine will need a refurbish. So add another $20,000 to get the value of this well used high mileage car. Seller got all any market would give up.

I agree, price more inline with the mileage and unknowns rather than the current market.

More like $30k to mid $30’s for top and bottom rebuild. And with supply chain issues, including valve guides, factor in 6-8 months to get it done if a shop can get you in. Many shops, especially machine shops are swamped.

Just went through this exercise. I admit this price includes new clutch, starter, and CV boots which you could skip. But with the engine out, no need to take shortcuts.

I agree with you on that SY 993 S 6-speed.
Some of you might have seen my chart (values of 993 4s and 993 s).
After having put up my 993 4s for sale this fall, some guys who looked at the car and one from Texas who wanted to fly over to perform a PPI, I analysed the market in detail to find an appropriate price for my 37 K mi car.
Being German in Germany I also compared prices in Europe vs the USA. It was clear that the USA market has outperformed the EU market.
Anyway that has changed a lot during the last few months and price seem to be almost even by now, realizing that the market for 993 4s and 993 s in very small with few cars on the market.
Today, it's much easier to find a 993 TT as there are more than three times of them on the market compared to the above.

Considering my results, I think this SY 993 s was auctioned for a fair price that would fit the average value for a high mileage car.
Cars with that mileage sell for about EURO 85 K - 100 K, in $ 90 K - $ 105 K. That BAT auction price is fairly high, considering another 5 K for auction fees.

i couldn't believe the price with 1100km and finally saw that the actual pics are showing the 206k referenced above. horribly mislabeled in the ad content.

i was having trouble wrapping my head around a 700 mile PTS C4S in Techno Violet.

The Viola Metallic C4S is very pretty but, as others have said, that is too much to ask for a car with that amount of mileage, X51 or not. Dave, you mentioned Pannhorst. They actually have a beautiful 993 C2S Vesuvio 6MT with 10k miles/17k kms. But, it's certainly not cheap!
