Assuming it is intact, there should be a label/sticker wrapped around the harness somewhere that has a 993-xxx-xxx-xx number on it.

It may very well have fallen off or become unreadable.

Go back to the river, & get the fishing net out.. It's got to be in there somewhere..

My favorite build thread! How did it end up in the river and how was it found? This is incredible.

Hi Leon,
thank you so much for appreciating it!

The car, from what I know, ended up because of an accident and the driver was able barely to save his life (I found the key in engine on position!). Same time the flow of the river took it away and even though they searched for it, the car wasn't found until beginning of 2018.
Then I saw it beginning of July, shortly before the owner was going to get it dismatled and pressed like a waste.
After 3 years I can say, of course from my personal point of view, it wasn't a waste at all.

Not a waste of time, nor a waste of energies, not even a waste of money.
I'd rather say it was an investment, in something that can't be sold as an object: knowledge, satisfaction, positive vibes. Do we find them for sale? I don't think so...and usually all of them, need lot of personal effort.

What I can say is I was caught from some kind of "demon" and I found myself apparently all alone and in the middle of nowhere, but I didn't lose presence to myself and after a very short while, I realised I wasn't alone at all and I could feel that the nowhere was so cosy, relaxing and satisfying.
Probably it was the demon-spirit of freedom popping out, which is actually nowhere, but also everywhere, if you carry it within yourself.

I personally think especially during these dark, hard, let's say gothic times we all need to rediscover this basic but also so precious concept, that is actually Freedom, which we did not earn, but which was given to us by our ancestors, who fought hard, for centuries, before us, and which can so easily be lost, which we never would have thought could happen, because we took it for granted.

Yes, now we must learn to feel what has been taken from us and commit ourselves to take it back: we would be stronger, or we all will succumb.

In a completely different field, every now and then I imagine that the difficulty of this project may inspire people not to lose heart, not to give up, but rather, to commit even more.

Because the current of the river otherwise takes away our lives as in its time it took away this 993.

I am consistently working to get to that moment with a car super top fit, like never before.
So far as it is written in the article the biggest part it is still missing is the gearbox, the few other minor parts like new brake lines, new fuel lines, the alarm control unit with its 2 remote controls, brake calipers and other minor electrical parts are lot easier tasks.
Engine is ready for rebuild, with all its parts checked, and some of them brand new as it would be in every standard engine overhaul.
The other big unknkwn variable is the time the coachbuilder shop will take after gearbox and engine will be installed, since they firmly insisted to make the final assembly of doors, front and rear lids, glasses, only with motor and engine weight in place.

Seeing this picture made me very proud

... and, the issue # is 773...it is missing just a 220 LSD option to get to 993
