I must identify all the ARP bolt kits (and related codes) available for the 993 engine, can someone point me out their products?
I try contacting them through their request form, but after 10 days they didn't even answer me: late this afternoon, because of the time zone I will try give them a call.

So far I found this head fastener kit

https://www.ebsracing.com/EBS/ARP-Po...-/ARP-204-4206

and for the crankcase thru bolt kit

https://www.jegs.com/i/ARP/070/204-5406/10002/-1

I just wonder if there are any other kits to change other studs of the crank case and if there are available the kit above at a better price.

Hi Paolo, the only suggestions I can make, is to contact a builder for a stud kit. I built my old 3.2 in my '84 into a twin-plugged 3.4L. I got a nice gasket and seal kit from Henry @ https://supertecperformance.com/ . I also got stuff like his headstuds, and a nice sealant kit. It sure made things easier. As to studs, I had my heads rebuilt machined for the extra plugs, case cleaned and line bored, crank polished, rods rebuilt, etc... at Ollie's....they provided all new studs, and at the time (2007) were quite good. I'm not sure if they're under same ownership these days? https://olliesengineering.com/

ARP hardware does cost more, however the manufacturing process and quality are top notch!!! It actually does not cost that much more for peace of mind so IMHO don't go cheap...

If there is no KIT, just measure the screws needed and order by size. You may want to keep what screw/size went where for easier reassembly.

I replaced all of the 'tin metal' screws around the engine and most other assemblies around my 993. I use 12 point, black oxide metric screws where ever I could.

Best Wishes!!!!!!

Thank you Mr_Bock,
I think I will write you in private.

A think I dont understand is why in some of the advertisements of the ARP studs, the studs are black coated, while in some other are just raw metal.

I would like to change the shorter block studs as well, not just the head studs and the thru bolts.

It seems to be rediculously hard to get the ARP bolts, the delivery time is estimated middle of June for the engine case thru bolts.
I took some pictures of the engine head studs and I also got some experiemced words that the studs are the strongest point of the 993 engines, while it is advisable to change the thru bolts, in his experience.

Right side of engine block

Left side of engine block

Detail lf some little surface oxyde, the metal isn't corroded at all

These are the only few spots

Thru bolts and the original crankshaft

Believe it or not, all that you see in the pictures above have been underwater for 4 and 1/2 years.

I am considering if it's the case not to change the engine head studs, but to change the engine case thru bolts with the genuine Porsche ones.
I also think that for a standard application all of the above would be perfectly reusable, I know it might sound like betting, when it is not time to, since the engine is opened and hencw it is a propitious opportunity to change those parts right now

Paolo, I still have a brand new set of these original Porsche bolts in my locker, they were send by 'normal' post and arrived 4 month after i ordered them

In the mean time I traveled to Germany and got another set for my engine rebuild. Don't think i will ever need them, so if you want them ...

Searching and reading I found informations regarding the Supertec Engine Head studs.

Anyone has experienced this solution?

Paolo, I noted those in a previous reply to you here just recently. Henry Schmidt, who builds a lot of performance Porsche motors, developed these. His engineering made sense, and I used them on my 3.2-3.4 I built for my old '84 911. I DON'T know, if they work with a 993, but I'd contact Henry for his answer.

thanks to Holger I should be recieving home the engine case thru bolts, I will then have to source the nuts and eventually would you change also the related washers?

As for the engine head studs, I've contacted summit racing, and I am waiting for a last answer to place the order, but I would like to get a word on this argument : do ARP studs need special attentions to be installed?
I read the ARP Studs have a different thread, is this true?
Or are they a direct replacement, easy to install, let's say a plug&play replacement?

Yesterday I finally took home the engine fan, and now yes, it is a beauty 😍

At Summit Racing they are not answering me, honestly, I don't understand it.

I am still wondering if the ARP engine head studs need some rework, or if they are a direct replacement.

These 964 engine fan and its housing has never been so sexy 😎

Summit may not know the answer at all. Did you contact ARP in the United States directly? https://arp-bolts.com/p/contact.php

If not, they are somewhat local to me (2 hours away) and I do not mind calling to ask your questions for you if you specifically tell me what you want to know, the part numbers, your situation, etc

EDIT - According to this, their head stud kit is for ALL 2.0 to 3.8L Air-cooled - https://tech.arp-bolts.com/instructions/204-4206.pdf
