It is cheaper and that is how PAG/VW now operates. Probably putting the same crap in the Bentley and Lamborghini too.

Grigio Campovolo is a Fiat color that was adapted by Porsche for PTS. It's a plain, light grey. Lighter than Chalk and without Chalk's brown/beige hue. It's not a PTS color that would excite me since it's not a Porsche Heritage color and also because it just doesn't move me, but YMMV.

To be fair, a million dollar Ford GT has the same headlight controls as my Transit Connect work van.

Focusing on the positive, the base is actually pretty good looking. It's the first time I thought the base looked better than the GTS. I also prefer the base lights to the squinty upgraded lights. Another first.

Lifetime ban.

Not allowed to be sensible and positive when the peanut gallery have their pitchforks out in full effect.

With the upgraded turbo's in the base it can be tuned to .1 GTS level of performance and beyond. Another reason to love the base 992.2 !.

Personally I think the hybrid system and exterior updates are very nice and interesting.

But Porsche really dropped the ball on the interior. Digital tach was I think expected but the start/stop button is just plain right ridiculous. My 2020 Subaru Crosstrek has a nicer start/stop button and that was around 25k total. Dropping 170k-200k+ and getting crappy VW bin parts is crazy. Also, I feel like people are really overlooking the fact that they moved the water pump inside the engine. Doesn’t that literally make the engine a ticking time bomb once it gets to around 100k miles?

Manufacturers have been doing this sharing forever. For example, the gen1 R8 shared all its switch gear, radio screen etc. with the MK2 TT RS, a car that’s less than half the price. Don’t think that took much away from the R8 experience for anyone. Once you’re sitting in the car, you don’t even see the start/stop button. Yea, it loses the tactility of the rotating start “key”; but there are other things I worry about. For example, losing the engagement of a manual transmission.

So, oil pumps have been inside the motor for a long time, and driven by the timing chain. I suppose the water pump being internal and mechanically driven is probably fine, and Porsche likely built longevity there. And, I really hope, they also built serviceability for R&R down the line.

Default What do you get for 48V architecture?

The base 992.2 is an evolution of the 992.1. And I’m trying to decide if it’s evolved enough to be worthwhile trading in my C2S. With the 48 V do you think remote starting might be possible for the first time? would love to know. there’s probably enough new to make it worth moving forward with the whole thing. I imagine that it will get the same highway mileage as my car but much much better mileage in the city. Also better mileage on the track…. I imagine that the driving assistance systems will work better: lane-keep assist, and traffic light detection. Your Apple CarPlay map directly in front of you has to be a good idea (but why not a heads up display Porsche??)

Ooops. What has been seen can indeed not be unseen…. Just saw the GTS real time pictures and couldn’t help noticing it immediately.

I had the same with the white panel in the headlights when not ordering the PDLS+. If you don’t notice it nothing wrong. When you notice it you’re screwed

Something for Rennlist to look forward to for the 994.
Fully agree! If it had the EV only mode, even just with a few kilometers/miles of range, it would lower the price of the GTS at least 30-40% here. Now the base price for a RWD GTS is 305k dollars!

At that point I think the car loses everything that a 911 is. If you want an EV sports car - Tesla or China will make one that essentially does the same thing at 1/3rd the price.
Partially incorrect. Including EV range would NOT add too much weight. In this new engine configuration merely a clutch would be needed between the electric motor and the ICE and that alone would already give some small amount of pure EV range (and significantly lower the prices in some European countries). Even the 918 had/has pure EV range.

Unfortunately, my 2020 will probably end up being my last 911 because I just can’t ever justify paying these new prices for a Porsche, but they knocked it out of the park with this mid cycle refresh IMO. What a beautiful car, both the base and the GTS. Love the vertical slats.

My long term wait list 992 GTS Targa deposit was retracted because of the 992.2 update.

Refuse to purchase a hybrid vehicle and must have a manual transmission, both requirements now incompatible with the 992.2 GTS vehicle.

It I wanted a performance sports car w/ an automatic transmission then I could have just purchased a new Corvette years ago for much less cost.

Did not need a 992 Porsche, so thanks Porsche for saving me around a quarter million dollars!

Sooo glad I purchased my 1986 911 Targa last fall, instead of continuing to wait only for my 992 vehicle!
