8.5% increase for the starting price of a GTS.

Some would say the horsepower of the .1 T is the most you can use on the street anyways.

I see price has gone up 10% for GTS. Thats pretty massive.

I see when accounting for weight increase, power bump is 50 hp which is still substantial. That being said watching 1/4 mile and the nurburgring time, I would have expected much more. The 1/4 mile race had perhaps 0.1s improvement maybe 0.2s. 8.7 seconds in Nurburgring can easily attributeable to the large wing, larger tires, suspension tuning. 50 hp should really be a bigger gap. I guess we’ll need to wait for magazines to drive them.

Also I’m sure the 1595 kg figure is the lightweight package with no rear seats, light glass, buckets, etc. Without those and with sunroof, its probably another 50-60kg.
It's going to come down to how responsive the new setup is and how the new car drives and handles. Watching the premier video drag race, I was thinking "who cares"? They are both stupid fast.

I was about 1.5% off in my guess of the increase. Add in another 5% come jan 2025 for good measure.

Additional Takeaways:
  • Extended Fuel Tank is Smaller
  • ACC is now included in the Premium Package
  • Ionizer is now included in the Premium Package
  • Homelink is now physical buttons on the mirror
  • It looks like they might the cluster narrower with the full digital display so you could actually see it all rather than just 3 out of the 5 pods.
  • On the GTS, you can select the color of the tach, so it looks like you should be able to get it coded to whatever color you want.

A base build similar to my 2023 C2 is now $152.7k vs $138.0k
A GTS built similar to my 2024 C2S is now $190k vs 174k

48V system is for active roll bar, rear steering etc. faster response and less copper. Audi have used this for a while now.

did someone confirm, I guess the 3.6 is a smaller version of the 4.0 in the 718 which is an iteration of the old Carrera 3.8?

Interesting same width wheels but rear offset now ET79 and cars run 245/315 tires instead of the 245/305 we run now.

I agree, but did the 992.1 not have almost identical engines sans the turbos and tune?

If the base now gets the GTS turbos and better intercooler, it seems like it is way under rated. This is basically the old GTS now power wise.

Doesn't seem that way

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a6...ngine-details/

The 9A3B6 (shown at top) grows in displacement from 2981 to 3591 cc, thanks to the bore and stroke increasing from 91.0 x 76.4 to 97.0 x 81.0 mm. But it also takes up less space, shrinking from top to bottom by 4.3 inches to make room for the hybrid systems' power control electronics between the top of the engine and the 911's classic sloping engine cover. The oil filter has been moved from the top to the bottom of the engine to maintain accessibility.

represents a complete overhaul of the 911 engine that debuted with the 991.2 models for the 2017 model year. Instead of the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged 9A2B6 used on the 992.1, the 992.2 GTS gets an 9A3B6 engine that displaces 3.6 liters,

Killing Racing Yellow for this puke green Cartagena thing is a tragedy. It looks like the BMW “yellow” which isn’t yellow at all.

Looks like it's trying to hit tighter emissions?

Porsche also revealed the base 992.2 Carrera with a much more modest powertrain evolution. It retains the 9A2B6 engine, but also adopts the Lambda 1 philosophy to reduce full power exhaust emissions. In this case, peak boost rises from 12.0 to 17.4 psi—higher than the 992.1 Carrera S. To provide this much airflow, the engine gets the larger turbochargers used on the previous S and GTS, as well as the bigger intercooler from the 911 Turbo. Peak power rises modestly, from 379 to 388 horsepower, still at 6500 rpm, and peak torque is unchanged at 331 pound-feet.

But I agree it seems odd that boost goes up with larger turbochargers that are better cooling and HP gains modest.

I think the new Turbo S will be bonkers, and 992.1 Turbo S will see the biggest depreciation out of the 992.1 generation, the best time to get into one of those bad boys.
