My info is that the S and the GTS are turbo/hybrid and is a fact that they will produce 510bhp and 540 bhp respectevly.

So it is difficult the S to be a turbo only car.

I have no info for the base, non s model but it is unlikely to be a NA non (non-turbo) car.

@Jasonamayes correct me if I am wrong on the S and the base (non S).

Only concerned about if S and GTS goes up to >500hp, these cars will be better in some performance vs actual GT models.

i don’t know if this will be appreciated for some customers that have waited their monster petrol engine.

i think is more gentleman style for Porsche going to S/GTS with turbo/hybrid little battery near pdk to reduce co2 and slightly improve performance (not too much) with good response and with zero turbo lag (very subtle right now with turbo engine)

my speculation…but this is a better Porsche way to introduce hybridization and make real jump with 994 (or other new code 911 project will be named)

This one sounds like a turbo engine, and does not have the center exhaust pipes and the yellow hybrid sticker like the GTS spy videos - most likely the S trim. Maybe he means S/Base will keep the current engines and GTS will add a Hybrid motor.

Exactly. And it is a fact: S will do 510bhp and gts 540bhp. Just hoping @Jasonamayes will confirm my info so we can go from 99.9% to 100% .

This makes it a very hard decision to get a 991.1 gts now with 470bhp. Not so much about the 70+bhp, but because of the absolute no lag at any rpm because of the hybri - that said it all depends on the weight of the hybrid mechanism.

Interesting days tech wise from any angle we view this...

Weight will depend largely on battery size. I would think they will want a decent size battery (2kwh or so) which would probably add around 250 lbs (for a point of comparison the Corvette e ray has a 1.9 kWh battery and the system adds 260 lbs).

I am assuming they are doing this for emissions reasons and not for large performance gains so they will likely be detuning the engine, perhaps running it on a miller cycle and/or dialing back boost, and replacing the lost power with the hybrid system.

Obviously the battery would have to be of decent size so that it has power available during the vast majority of driving circumstances, otherwise it would not be able to consistently deliver the advertised performance.

If that´s correct that means Geneva 2024.

New Panamera - Presentation November 2023 (camouflage cars were test drive by reporters in September)

Macan EV - Early January 2024 (camouflage cars were test drive by reporters some few daws ago)

992.2 -February 2024 (I guess we´ll be seing camouflage cars being test drive by reporters in December 2023)

Makes sense.

Regards.

I spoke with my Porsche OPC that is owned by PCGB and he says that there is strong rumour that 992.2 S and GTS will get regenerative hybrid system that bolts on to the PDK box and a small battery. It will provide mild boost and take out the turbo lag.

As above it seems it is not a runor, it is a 99.9% a fact. Gts will be hybrid and output 540bhp. Same for S but 510bhp.

I have double corfirmation on this from my trusted sources, I need a third one from someone reputable here - hello @Jasonamayes - and the 99.9% becomes a 100%.

I have reserved a 4s cabrio for delivery in june - for now - and we are waiting to see if the gts will also be delivered along the s in europe or if will be delays. I will upgrade to 4 gts cabrio if delivery is within 3-6 months. They will launch the s and gts in february but the gts might be delivered a bit later.

I do not have much info on the base and also please note the summer delivery dates might possible moveto much later. But major dealers for now have their allocations for the first months wiyh delivery days starting from june - in europe.

Suprisingly the gt3 is also officially scheduled for december 2024 for now.

The S and GTS already have lots of powers at high RPM, I suspect that the hybrid system will give us more torques at lower RPM.
