“Your concerns regarding MSRP markups is not a decision made by PCNA and you can be assured that this is not a behavior that we do not condemn. While we do have levers we engage to encourage the right behavior, this can be a challenge to ultimately distort market dynamics. ... Having said that, we are working hard to ensure customers are treated as fairly as possible and that dealers consider the implications of their pricing policy on customer loyalty. ... To that end, we are strongly suggesting the use of a “first right of repurchase” and selling at MSRP with our dealers, with varying degrees of success. I know this response may not help you obtain a new vehicle at MSRP, but I do hope it sheds some light on the situation from our perspective.”
sorry about that @SS22

i assume your contact meant "this is not a behavior we condone." rather than "this is not a behavior that we do not condemn."

but good to know pcna doesn't like this behavior. it's a free market though, so there is nothing they can do.

for reference, i purchased my 992.1 c2s for 14% off msrp ... yes. this was in nov 2020; the car i purchased had spent 8 months on a dealer's lot. those days are long gone; but perhaps they return some day in the future?

Anyone who pays above MSRP at this point is crazy. 911's do not sell at 20 or 30 over anymore, at least in experience.

All good!! Yes, that double negative made me cringe. I spared you a couple major misspellings in the email too!

You definitely got the deal if a lifetime.

A well/properly spec’ed 911 in the more in-demand trims (S, GTS, Turbos) with just a year under their belt and low mileage do still go for about $20k or so above MSRP…

Here’s a 2021 S that got sold for $161k a couple weeks ago: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2021-porsche-911-carrera-s-coupe-12/

This 2022 Targa 4S just went for $181k:

interesting. what about brand new 992.1 trims? i understand they are winding down production of everything except the T and GTS in preparation for the 992.2 rollout? is this true? of course, the GT3 continues to be an absolutely scorching hot commodity - so leaving that aside, i am asking about the base 992.1, the 992.1 S, 992.1 GTS, and 992.1 T (i think this is what porsche is pushing per anecdata).

yes, i was very lucky. i purchased the car in massachusetts (sight unseen) and had it shipped to california. the car was spec'ed exactly how i wanted it (not a single thing extra or a single thing missing) and i have driven the heck out of it over the last 2.5 years.

when the 911 after the 992.2 comes out, i will be in line (although i hope not to let go of my beloved 992.1) ... of course this is at least 3, if not 4, years away ... i am not going to plan more than about a second ahead knowing how fragile life is

Depending on where in the country, new orders of non-GT 911s with an actual allocation are going for anywhere between MSRP (plus required add-ons of some sort like PPF/ceramic, etc.) and $20k.

2024 MY has been confirmed to be 991.1. The face-lifted 992.2 won’t come until 2025 MY.

today-i-learned ... i thought the 992.2 was going to be introduced/teased this month and released as a MY'2024 vehicle.

so, new 992.1 non-GTs are going for either MSRP + add-ons or MSRP + $20k?

MY 2024 is exactly the same as MY 2023, except Porsche discontinued 3 colors for 2024 and raised MSRP on non-GT 911s by little over $8k. Here’s a good video on that:

Seems dealers outside the hot demand areas (CA, FL, etc.) are still charging around $10-20k ADM for an order with allocation right now. It’s different if you waited in line for months for MSRP, you might just get it. But if you walk in and want an allocation now, it comes at the premium of ADM. As for dealers in other areas of the country, we’ve started to see reports of folks getting MSRP on this forum.

This guy didn’t bring any new information that wasn’t already on the configurator 😂 Not a bad gig to spend a few minutes on configurator and run a uTube channel just for that. Which really means he doesn’t know anything, there could be new colors or other items showing up soon.

...."why do work when you don't have to" modern day porsche mentality (this is a light joke about "content creat(ors/ion)" and the "evolution" of the 992.1 since release, for any suits who don't understand)

That guy works at a Porsche dealer and provided the most info there is to know straight from Porsche. He summarized all the changes for all trims. The main point is that other than discontinuing the colors and a couple minor things on the Configurator, there is no difference between MY2023 and MY2024 911

Are you referring to already built 911s? Because I can tell you from calling around that changeable 911 allocations continue to sell with ADMs — sometimes considerable ADMs — in many/most markets. I found most dealers have no allocations of any variant.
