Wouldn't be the first time a manufacturer has released a new model super early. As long as sale is after Jan 2nd it is fair game. Given a 1/2/24 delivery date, they could start taking orders for MY25 at the end of Q3 this year.... which if is the case... a Q2 announcement would make sense.
So they’re just gonna skip MY 24? No 911s for MY 24?

I remember my BMW dealer CLEARLY telling me the new M3 would not have that hideous grille. Even though the world had proof - boy he sure showed me! (and man, did I get shredded for saying "My dealer says those spy shots are not real").

In this theory, MY24s would still be 992.1s ... probably models not available at launch for the 992. (Base or Electric models maybe?).

I literally have no idea, I am just shooting the **** bored at work lol.

My dealer did tell me in January that the 992.2 would be ready to order by year end.

What's worse is that they put that ridiculous grille on the i4. It's an EV, what reason do they have for that monster grille. Same with Audi. Note to the car manufacturers, you have a massive opportunity for front end design innovation/departure on EV models. But no, mercedes did it too.

Yes, 992.2 cars may arrive in late 2024, but they will be VIN'ed as a MY2025 vehicle.

That theory I can see!

So maybe early 2024, we see a new trim (911 hybrid) or just the base/S or whatever as a MY2025 so that eventually all 911 trims for MY2025 is the .2. This now makes the most sense to me. Meanwhile, the other trims playing catch up will still be .1 for their MY 2024.

The Configurator is gonna get thrown for a loop

Ah the only kink in my theory - the configurator won't be able to handle that lol.

It’s hardly able to keep up now. It’s been glitching and not showing photos for the last few days which has been driving me nuts as I have an actual freeze date!

Now, who thinks we see a new trim for the hybrid vs. adding it to a prior trim?

I think one of turbos gets ditched and replaced with a turbo s hybrid with the most power in the lineup.

For what it’s worth had another dealer this week tell me that the .1 dies this year….

Normally, new .2 model overlaps with .1 GT cars… time will tell, but it’s the same floor-pan so can easily continue on the same production line.

I don’t understand the urgency or need to rush out a .2. The .1 still has waitlists, ADM, and there is more demand than inventory. Seems like they would want to squeeze as much out of the assembly line as possible before retooling.

Porsche is getting lazy with updates.

Macan is becoming 10 years old, and still not much information or specific release date announced for the new 718.

But these are due to electrification.... kind of exception...

For the more regular models, the gen 3 Cayenne did not get facelift for 5 years, the exact same shape 2019-2023 MY, and then face lift for 2024 MY.

Panamera 971.2 is going to be produced for 4 years, 2021-2024 MY.

Probably the 7 year cycle (with .1 for 4 years, .2 for 3 years) is now going away.

New cycle will be 9 years I guess, .1 for 5 years and .2 for 4 years.
