I don't see that Cobb even has a tune for the 992 yet. Can somebody link me to it? Doesn't appear on my Google searches at least

Maybe because the guy who wrote the tunes for Porsche is no longer with Cobb?

Perhaps a better comparison for home tunes via the OBD2 port would be:

M Engineering

vs

Softronic

Discuss.

COBB disabled my ECU, turned it into a brick on my 991.2 4S. Never working with them again. They can be the "premier" tuner for Subaru... not Porsche

Y'all, let's all stay on topic. This was a thread created by us to discuss our product specifically, M-Tuner, which is the renowned tuning solution via the OBD port for 992, 992TT, and 982 4.0L.
Yes, a bunch of us including myself have been previously at other tuning companies earlier discussed. We have many, many combined years of tuning and working on Porsche ECUs and we look forward to bringing this platform to new heights which nobody else can do. We are the first for many features and custom code, most of which are copied later on by other companies to try and keep up.

We have some exciting new stuff coming out such as E85 maps for 992 Carrera and Carrera S, and PDK is in the near future as well.

Cheers

Is there a list of ECU tuning options outside of the performance mappings? Autostart stop, cold start timing change, exhaust valves to stay open, keeping the surround-view camera on past the speed limit, any other quirky requests....

For example:
what have you done for customers so far
what has been asked for that you have not done yet
what additional costs, if any?

Other features that can be programmed into your calibration at NO extra cost upon request include:

- PSE valves fully open all the time when PSE is pressed
- Cold Start High Volume Elimination
- Removal of auto start/stop
- Raise rev limit
- Soft limit removal

The camera thing is not related to the ECU calibration and would likely need to be programmed or changed via a Porsche PIWIS tool. That is a neat idea to none the less look into. Thank you.

Awesome Charles, thanks for much for the prompt response. Just one question, based on how you answered:

"- PSE valves fully open all the time when PSE is pressed". - Are you saying that the PSE will function as OEM standard when choosing Wet, Normal, Sport, and SportPlus modes, and only when you manually push the exhaust button on the PCM or shortcut hard button on the dash will the PSE exhaust will stay fully open?
If so, then by changing to modes Wet, Normal, Sport, and SportPlus after you have pushed the button, will default back to OEM PSE valve operation per each mode? So to fully open the steps would be to pick your desired mode of Wet, Normal, Sport, and SportPlus and then push the exhaust button on the PCM or shortcut hard button on the dash.?

If this is the case, as I think it would be, this would be ideal. Hope that wasn't confusing. haha Please let me know. Thanks!

No - pretty sure this mean PSE "on" = valves fully open. So any modes (like Sport) that enable PSE, would have valves fully open. But, I'll leave it to Charles to confirm.

From the factory, when you push the PSE button to turn the valves on, the factory logic still shuts them off at certain points. Sounds really odd especially with aftermarket exhaust.
With our custom code, when you press the PSE button and the button light is illuminated, the valves will stay 100% on all the time, they won't shut off. If you push the button to the off position, the factory logic is returned.

If you don't have the PSE function from the factory but your car has valves we can turn them fully on.

The question is specific to the driving modes. How about choosing sport or sport plus? When that happens it automatically turns on the PSE light, does that mean your M-Engineering coding is on as well or only when the button is physically pressed? Looking understand understand how the change in the driving mode auto PSE activation works with the tune. Thank you Charles.

Understand your question now. Yes, if you change to sport or sport plus and it activates the PSE light, your valves will be in the 100% open position with our custom code.
