I think M-Engineering may be the best one to answer this - what actually happens when you hit the "Sport Response" buttons on these cars? Is there a brief period of extra boost or is it all placebo effect? How does this work with the tune?

This has been extensively discussed in another thread. No one has yet provided any documentation from Porsche that increased boost pressure is provided during the 20 seconds. If you have it, please post .

transmission to maximum responsiveness (time-controlled)."
We don't mess with the sport response button on the calibrations, as that is usually logic that is best left alone from the factory how users prefer it to be. I would suspect there are some simple table requests for only throttle response or PSE changes as well, more or less a cool marketing feature on the car that is rarely used. If someone wants to capture a datalog with M-Tuner of what's going on we'd be more than happy to take a further look, for science.

For sure...there is place for interpretation, boost or not...but here it goes !
When pressed, the systems are preconditioned for a spontaneous power boost lasting up to 20 seconds. This function is intended for overtaking maneuvers—and was inspired by the Hot Lap button in the 918 Spyder. The button that primes all the systems is called the Sport Response Button.

The button that primes all the systems is called the Sport Response Button. It prepares the engine and transmission for maximum responsiveness and closes the wastegate in the turbocharger, which enables it to build up boost pressure much more quickly.

^ Building up boost more quickly is possible, I guess, as opposed to overboost.
However....when you are on the throttle isn't the wastegate already closed? How would the SRB be different than that?

If you knew that the entire Cobb tuning crew was headed by Mitch (who is the M from M engineering and wrote the software for Cobb) who left to form his own company then perhaps you might reconsider why you would choose Cobb at all.
