I was in the same boat between C4 vs C4S. Awd was a must as I daily drive in the north east. When it came down to it there aren't many C4 available and it ended up being easier to aquire a C4S faster. My personal vote is to get into any 911 that you can get asap to maximize your enjoyment.

I agree. I would have gone with C, C4, CS or C4S. C4 was offered so I went for it. Got the sport package so I have PTV.

My build on the base 992 comes to about 118k whereas my build on the S comes to about 139k. Having not driven the S, I wanted to see anyone could share their thoughts on these two models, anything other than difference in speed to consider? Appreciate any feedback.
I spec’s mine for s cab then stared to have second thought. Went back to spec a base cab, and added as close as possible the options as to the s, bigger wheels packages etc. the price comes to 170k vs 155k. So 15k diff. I noticed the sport package is not available on base you will have to choose individual options which is a bit more if you add up. feel better with the s now, esp I got an extra allocation, and will take delivery in March.

the 2025 naturally aspired 3.6L on the GTS will be a game changer

If you like to feel the thrust of the car when you hit the gas to go from say 30 to 70, 20 to 60, 30-50 etc get the S with the additional torque. Complete nonsense that you cannot enjoy the extra power on the road.

The sad part is, nowadays, if you want to buy a nicely equipped S, you have to fork out 170 k
This is GT 3 money, 3 years ago

To continue on that line of thought, it is also sad that the price you pay for a base today, could have gotten you an S 3 years ago.

Even in a Base, that type of acceleration lasts a maximum of two seconds at full throttle. Tell me again about all of this extra power in the S that you are enjoying on the road.

OK-step on the gas at 30 and feel 390 lbs of torque do their job till 50 and feel the amount of thrust. Do the same with a base with what 330 or so ft lbs of torque and feel the thrust. The difference is what I enjoy!

There I told you again, albeit in a different manner.

As long as Porsche keeps evolving the 911 in the right direction and controls supply and demand, we won't be seeing discounts. Plus the fact that folks will always want the latest/greatest newest model and you can build your exact car from the numerous options will assure a steady stream of buyers. Just my humble opinion.

Absolutely.

The amount of instant torque is ALSO why some of us have added an EV to our stable. My EV has 502 lb-ft of torque and 469 bhp. Off the line, hard to beat the instant torque of EV, but take it out a bit, and the 992S begins to pull away.

PS - For those who say 0-60 (etc) doesn’t matter…or you’ll never use/need that acceleration….I say baloney. At least a few times a month, I’ll find myself in the wrong lane, with an exit that I need to take coming up. My wife use to scream at me that I need to get over…”I’m in the wrong lane”. She doesn’t do that anymore, as in the blink of an eye, I move out and over to make my turn/exit, in plenty of time. Absolutely no sweat.

So you like turbo power. Ok. For some of us, stepping on the gas to feel a rush of power for a handful of seconds in a straight line is not exciting.
Many of us here prefer NA. The smaller turbos feel NA. It's my draw to the T and would not get an S or GTS because they feel more like a turbo car compared to the base engine.
