We were comparing 992 GT3 to 992 TT-S here, and the 992 TT/TT-S are no longer offered with R-comp tires as they were with previous generations, while the 992 GT3 is offered with even more extreme PSC2R tires. The GT3 will always offer a purer driving experience, there no denying that. However, in terms of lap times, on the same tires and depending on the track, there will be instances where the TT-S is faster than the GT3. Porsche manages the pecking order very well, there's a reason they are no longer offering the 992 TT-S with R-comp tires .

But going back on the topic of this thread, same driver same day same tires, I don't see a 992C-T matching the pace of a 992 GT3.

p1 seems to be the go to for bucket inserts. I’ve been back and forth about changing mine out. Big impact for not a lot of money - way cheaper than Porsche prices, that’s for sure.

Do you happen to know what the maximum negative camber is for the non-GT 992 vs the GT cars?

...even with ECU tune and more than 440 ft lbs torque and 415 or more wheel HP for the base engine?
(even accounting for about 110 lbs. less weight for the GT3)

Are we really trying to convince ourselves that a $117K Carrera T can be faster than a $170K (in reality, $250K) GT3? I am not expecting that, but it damn well better be faster around the Nurburgring or VIR (in Car & Driver’s Lightning Lap series) than a Carrera S!

If you spec the Carrera S with Sports Package basically same equipment as the T, Carrera S would probably be faster around the track TBH (more power / more brakes). The T is not about lap times. Porsche will never break the heirarchy.

I was thinking the T is trading some of the S's comfort for performance, but you're probably right, it's an intentional hierarchy.

I'd love to be able to drive them back to back. Clearly, on paper they will have different personalities. Base engine with a flatter torque curve, a little lighter, and more raw (less sound deadening, etc) may not be faster around a track, but it may feel faster or at least more visceral. And when you're talking about back road driving or just simple HPDE days where all of these cars have more capabilities than their drivers do, it's probably more about perception than reality.

I thought some of the performance comparisons were considering aftermarket mods to a T, vs a stock S, GTS, etc.

I'll keep my T stock. My general rule is buy a street car that has all the stock performance I want. And if I wanted a track beast, I'd wouldn't start with a new T. I'd buy something used that someone else has already put money into. More likely to win a DE that way.

Anyone know when dealers should start getting their allocations for the 911T or anyone have a confirmed allocation yet? My dealer thinks it will be in November and today starts November.

I have a demand order... which means nothing I know.

Haha I just made the same post in the Ruby Star thread. It's in the Kuwait configurator as a special color so I assume it'll be orderable soon.
