Well you were talking history and maybe trying to rationalize your preference of no rear seats (mine too!). And I would agree that Porsche is marketing the T as weighing less, but it just might be possible that someone here isn't buying a T for less weight. For instance those adding PDK are adding weight. I was just showing examples of options on original MY72 T's that show it wasn't weight then and weight reduction options like removing rear seats weren't there. In that day, many T buyers added in the S options. And there were two RS variants back in '73 - Touring and Sport/Lightweight. The touring package RS, which most produced were, had rear seats FWIW. Apologies - no ridicule intended just the facts.
I could care less how people order their cars or what the T means to them. For me, the T presents an opportunity to have the closest I can get to the original philosophy of Ferry's 911 in a new car. To have what Sinefeld brilliantly described as "having density of thought", meaning everything that exists having purpose and nothing frivolous - only what is necessary. This is why the only functional option I ordered is the extended gas tank and I was a day too late to remove the $12k of interior options I previously added which would've made my car almost a $117k car. A total stripper. But none of this means that this is what the T should be. It's just what I want. Hell, I don't even care if it's called the T or if it has stickers or special color accents. So, for those who want rear seats, or RAS, or sunroof, or PDK, knock yourself out and don't take some comment I made that was taken out of context by some bozo to mean something it doesn't.

We're on the same page you and I. I edited my original comment for clarity. I was referring to @FORENN 's comment.

To me, the ethos of a Porsche is that it be a driver’s sports car. The “T” is exactly that - it’s a base Carrera, with every single sport option already included.
I started this thread 2 years ago, and received a few negative comments because I wanted ventilated leather seats, no door straps (the 991.2 T came with them) and a sunroof. Well, the door straps were removed for this model, and I ordered the ventilated seats and the sunroof.
Why? Because I drive the heck out of these cars, and enjoy every minute. I’m trading in my 991.1 with 105k miles on the odometer, and I live in South Florida - so while driving, I like having ventilated seats and having the cabin be illuminated by the glorious sunlight. I’m a driver…
For those that spout about the “T ethos” and want to spec buckets and PCCBs and RAS etc etc… and then park these cars in a garage and drive them for 4k miles a year - that’s not the Porsche ethos, and definitely not what the “T” stands for. But more power to you! Glad you are saving the car for the next owner.

It was nice to go through a lot of pages again and some new deliveries. And a nice short review by Spartakos. Laughed a lot at Barkat03 sense of humor. Love his posts
In the Netherlands the 7th unsold 992 T has arrived pretty close to my hometown. It’s the first 992 T with the T-package lizard green interior! So if it has arrived already tomorrow at the dealership I will be going there to make 61 pictures again for you guys.

The PDSL+ has the cornering lights and the automatic high beam function. But the biggest difference most don’t know is the PDLS+ has the full silver/chrome ring around the headlight. The normal one doesn’t. The normal one has a white plastic inlay on top (just why??) while the PDLS+ has the black plastic inlay on top. I needed to chose between white plastic or the silver/chrome circle around the headlight. I chose to save €1100. But am pretty pissed about the looks. That’s the reason Porsche wants you to go for the full black matrix.

Agree. But let’s assume these bait-and-switch options return (err… are finally offered). They are already a bit pricey. I’d love PTS and I think it’s worth the wait. But it’s already 11k+ and then you factor in the recently-announced price hike and you start thinking… okay, do I really want PTS badly enough to pay 20k and up? At some point these desired options become less desirable, or at least to me.
Told my dealer I will take whichever comes first:
Option 1: MY23 w/ Comfort seats at its current price point
Option 2: MY24 w/ potential increase pricing and LWBs
Porsche IG has been showing PTS Carrera T's recently so whoever mentioned these options may be available for MY24 may not be far off.

Thank you for the excellent synthesis of information here. When I removed PDLS+, it was because I didn’t want the chrome ring (as there is no chrome on my car at all). Had I known it would result in a silver internal element, I may have been inclined to keep PDLS+. This is something I’ve gone back and forth on for the past 24 hours…still haven’t made up my mind.
Silver element visible in this photo of my car here…I think I prefer matte silver over chrome.

So interesting reading all the posts about the ethos of a T, weight saving v creature comfort options etc etc.
Am I the only person that’s ordered a T to attract a different type of woman??
Could have ordered a cabrio but they mostly appeal to types that lets their hair flow when the hood’s down.
Could have ordered a GTS but they mostly appeal to types that like a flashy badge.
No - I’m hoping the T will attract ladies that are serious and knowledgeable about cars in general and 911’s in particular.
Wish me luck, I need it!

Back to the T, I am surprised there has not been more YouTube reviews of the T. I feel like a drug addict demanding another hit lol
