I wouldn't put too much weight (no pun intended) into what Porsche picks as zero cost options. It's their marketing department. The last gen T had no infotainment system as standard in Europe. I don't think many left it that way and optioned the zero cost standard system instead.
Given that the 992T doesn't even have buckets or PCCBs available as options, I don't blame those who view the T as a parts bin special. The 992 more so than the 991. RAS and MT seem to be the only hard deviations from the base and most of the weight savings are from the MT in the 992. We can sit here and split hairs all day. Ultimately, everyone can define for themselves what the T means. For me, it's as light, spartan, and driver focused. A T with rear seats, sunroof, and PDK is just a base with stickers to me. No offense to the many who loaded up their Ts. It's just my opinion.
Tell us you don’t know Porsche history without saying you don’t know Porsche history.

Weather is still miserable and I couldn’t get nice pictures so far but I can share my first impressions of the most debated topics.
Non leather dash, it looks very spartan, not sure if I would select in a daily 992 but I would say it makes sense in a T.
A week ago, I would have called you nuts and said leather dash is a no brainer! But...back to the ethos of the T being a "bare bone" driver focused car. This actually makes a lot of sense to me now. In fact, the non-leather is probably more durable, especially if you plan use the car to its true touring potential - aka driving in all weather and environments, taking it camping in the dessert like @996roadtrip, etc
For those of you that own other Porsche's or 911s, this will also vastly differentiate between what you already have as I assume leather stitching is quite popular to option for most 911 owners (me included)
I was going to leave rear seats out but with the Lizard Green Interior costing nearly $7K I wanted every seat in for full effect. Also, I asked a bunch of RL'ers if you gain any cargo space by deleting the seats and the answer was no, not much so why bother?
I’m with you. A simple cost/benefit says keep seats. It’s not a GT3 and deleting rear seats won’t make it one, though it might make pretending easier for some. Only Porsche can convince people it’s cool to pay the same amount to take less.

If you are keeping rear seats and cant get LWB….then just get a C2.
Either way you are a part of the Porsche marketing.

If we are talking history, many original T's were optioned with S equipment, including Fuchs, S brakes, the full S gauge package, etc. Contrary to what the current Porsche marketing says, I'm not aware of the original T weighing less than an E or S. It just had the lowest HP motor. Trying to connect it to the original is funny. Here is the build sheet for my T.
