992 Carrera T Club

My step 5 manufacturing complete date was pushed from originally 3/17 to 4/11 but today just updated to completed 3/27. So some of the pushed out dates are being reversed as others have seen.

I haven’t done that many miles yet, but it is actually slightly quieter than my 991.2 GTS was… the engine and exhaust note is pleasant but doesn’t have the pop and burble the GTS had; and as for road noise, I must say I can’t really tell if I’m being honest… I still bloody love it though!
Please consider that roads in Switzerland are close to perfection. It’s definitely a loud car (maybe the loudest non GT Porsche I driven) and in comparison my Golf 8R is silent like a Rolls Royce.

Here are the pictures (not from me unfortunately) of the 992 T from the main Porsche importer. This will be the press car and demo car in the Netherlands.
Whilst all dealers have ordered dealer spec 992 T in more “basic colors” and PDK and rear seats the press car is in flashing Guards red with race tex elements and a manual and the rear seat delete. Gotta love that! I don’t understand the lack of carbon roof on the press car however.

It can’t hurt to have that as a press car spreading the news!

I thought the whole rear seat delete issue was to fit in the LWBS. With the LWBS you can't have rear seats as I recall. Now that they are not available, I don't think it matters if you have rear seats or not. The weight savings and sound deadening is there, but it is more a marketing exercise than much of a difference. One thing I dislike about rear seat delete is the plastic piece covering where the rear seatbelts should be. Once seen I cannot unsee.
According to latest 000 issue, rear seats in the 992 only add 17.6 pounds. Was pretty surprised it was that low. Even if you add in seatbelt mechanisms on top of that, not much in the end.

Speaking of Michelins, looks like the Pilot Sport S 5 is pending full release and media coverage. So if it makes anyone feel better that didn't get Michelin 4 S, know that no one is getting the latest and greatest

GOOD NEWS (at least for Europeans)
Last week the EU agreed to allow exceptions to it's law to outlaw all new ICE cars from 2035 (2030 in the UK).
This means Porsche will be able to continue making ICE 911's that use E-fuels, made using renewable energy and carbon dioxide captured from the air.
E-fuels are not seen as a viable solution for the vast majority of cars, given their high cost and current lack of availability, but can be a solution for
specialist sports cars like Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin etc.
What is deadline in the USA and Canada?

Take care with your new cars boys, particular if you've never previously owned powerful sports cars!!
Four Dutch nationals died in a collision involving three Porsches just over the border in Germany.
The victims were a woman aged 37 and three men aged 39, 42, and 56 respectively. The accident, on the A3 happened at 11am on Sunday morning when the driver of a Porsche Cayman lost control of the car and crashed into a barrier.
The second car stopped to assist but was then hit by the third Porsche which lost control on the same stretch of motorway.
The final crash killed two people who had managed to get out of the first car and the man who helped them. The driver of the third car died on the way to hospital.
It had been raining and driving at high speed may have caused the cars to aquaplane on the wet surface, a German police spokesman said.
Dutch police said they believed the sports cars were taking part in a rally from Doetinchem to Cuijk, in Noord-Brabant, via Germany.

Latest estimates of e-fuel cost are about $40/US Gallon. That's a lot, but honestly I would be okay with that as I mostly just drive for pleasure. Otherwise I prefer to walk or take the train/bus. Yeah. I'm that weirdo.
Economies of scale and improvement of the technology could bring that to less than $10/US Gallon and I've seen some estimates at about $8/US Gallon. Keep on pumping money into e-fuels, Porsche! And maybe find a location closer than Chile so that distribution costs aren't so crazy.
