[QUOTE=mitchs_996;18918359]Installed the agate grey 911 emblem in the “heritage edition and sport classic” spot. I like it!!! And drooling over my garage camera angle!!!
/QUOTE]

Well . . . I was thinking of putting my incoming emblem vertically rather than horizontally but your 1st pic may have convinced me otherwise.

If you’re going to get PDK, buy a base Carrera instead of a T.

Additionally, if I do end up going with PDK, would it make sense to spec ventilated seats to get leather seat center just so it will also appeal to otherwise non-T buyers as Sport-Tex doesn't seem to be common outside of T?
Buy the car YOU want, not the car for the next guy, that's paramount. Secondly, IMO unless you live in a hot climate the ventilated seats may not be desirable as they add a little firmness to the seat. Third, I think since the T is a somewhat atypical and special car in the Porsche Carrera line, it should have a T-designed interior; read, standard interior or one of the special T interiors.

What if the allocation you have is for a T not a base. Would you turn it down and wait for a base allocation just because you wanted a PDK? Don't think so. You also get the LSD.

You know this isn’t how it works. Could be waiting 2 more years for a base build slot.

Absolutely the stupidest reason to buy a Carrera vs. a T.

Yah but you could likely buy a CPO 992 PDK with a great warranty and not have to wait. PDK are plentiful in the market.

1. yes, build the car for yourself and take the allocation if you have it.
2. yes, PDK will hurt the resale value of your T generally, compared to manual cars.
3. IMO, if you are getting a T, the T-oriented features are a good way to go. (T interior package...etc)
4. There will always be more porsches

Buy the car that you and your wife want. Get the spec that will make the two of you happy. Your happiness and satisfaction with the spec is more important than resale, and a whole hell lot more important than the randos on the internet think you should get. YOU and your wife have to live with the car - the folks who post on this page do not. Our opinions are pretty much worthless if the car you buy based on the feedback from strangers on the internet (even if they're strangers who post on an enthusiast forum for the car your looking at) is one you end up hating after you get it.

Buy the spec you and your wife like and can afford. The internet hive mind shouldn't get a vote...

You need to ask yourself (and your wife) who will be doing the driving? If 90% of the time she’ll be the passenger then persuade her to get what YOU WANT….manual or PDK. I used to make decisions (on toys)asking my wife for feedback and it happens that the car would be used by me, then I’d be miserable for 2-3 years. Manual holds value better, for example in December I bought a 991.2T with the perfect specs (RAS, PCCB, buckets) but it was PDK. I haven’t been miserable cause the car is fun to drive but I’m not engaged. I’ve been trying to sell the car for the past couple of weeks cause I got a GTS that just arrived and I have people turn me down because of PDK….not one, not two, more than 3……my $0.02

Two different things; the car is still owned by the factory or the distributor at that point so in that sense any work done at the port is "factory paint repair". But as to quality of work, totally dependent on who is contracted to do those repairs. Some are good, some very good, but some are no better than your local body shop.

This is good advice.

And I would add that you shouldn't get a base Carrera because the T comes with a limited slip and sport PASM and sport exhaust as standard. Additionally it opens up options for RAS. So even if you end up with PDK you're getting a better car than the base. Just make sure to click the box for the stereo upgrade because the base stereo is doo doo

Chicago roads suck, so I thought some Dakar references would be humorous for us nerds in the room.

Are most people going for full leather interior? I am leaning towards lizard green T interior but have not seen many pictures of it.
