992 Carrera T Club

I honestly can’t fathom someone watching a Doug review and liking it. It’s not just his voice, it’s the deliberate stretching of the content to make longer videos, using far too many words to describe often irrelevant aspects of the vehicle. Some people have a face for radio; Doug has a voice for print.

I am having a hard time understanding people with these strict budget limits. How can anyone be so strict whilst spending an unbelievable amount of money already? If you spend $130.000 on a car is it really that big of a deal to spend a bit more? How does that work in your minds? Most of us here are buying the car for ourselves and driving them as a gratitude for being lucky enough to share this car passion.
Of course if you don’t care about the leather just stick to your T ethos. Still to some of us plastic in such an expensive car is a bridge to far. The 992 T is the only car who can pull this of where it’s about the sheer driving pleasure and low cost 911 ethos. I get this. But don’t get the “my strict budget”.
About the exterior I just want to add that almost every 911 is equipped with the sport design package. You want something really special? Go for the standard bumpers. Every GTS has the sport package and most S versions all spec them. You want the T ethos then go for the straight line bumpers.

.
About that green car: the green press car did not have the orange flashlights and hat the carbon roof. So it must be a different and US spec car!
You were able to save $130.000 but are not able to save $4000 more for leather because it’s that last 4% that will make you go bankrupt? It’s a serious question. Am not trying to be rude or something.

I don’t think he’s trying to be rude, I think he feels the leather interior adds so much to the cabin ambience and experience that he doesn’t want people to leave it off their builds just to save what is a relatively small amount of money considering the amount already being spent on the car. Just my interpretation, don’t kill the translator.

Otherwise it's a slippery slope.
Sure, 4k is not a big deal in isolation -- its only 4% of the total purchase price. Once you justify that, then maybe you look at deviated stitching for another, say, 5k, and heck that's ok because it's only another 4% of the (new) total purchase price. And so on and on. Where does it stop?
Of course, most anyone who can buy a $130k car and afford another 4k in options, but that isn't the question.
It's not whether you can afford to get it, but whether you should be getting it. And if you've set a budget for yourself then the answer to the second question should be "no" if you have any sense of financial discipline, or just discipline generally.

I was told the car at PECLA is the same car from the LA autoshow. Something I checked for specifically was the sport exhaust button situation. This car had black exhaust tips (not chrome) and did have the sport exhaust button. Furthermore, if anyone was on the fence about the T interior package in slate gray, I would recommend against it. The stitching is so dark that it is very difficult to distinguish from the black leather. On the other hand, I am sure that the PG stitching will be gorgeous for those of you that spec it!

I'm going to leave it at that and look forward to continuing to discuss the wonderful builds others are considering, and enjoy debating features/options/colors etc

Here is my current build, after a lot of thinking over the last month I dont think I am going to change anything, so feel free to roast. Also keep in mind I have agreed to pay a markup in order to secure the allocation, hoping to have it reduced when the car arrives but I am also trying to be positive that I am getting the car built exactly how I want. Two weeks to freeze.
