Has anyone gone from a 2014 50th Anniversary 991 to a 992 Carrera T. Do they have similar power there is only a 10-year technology gap? The 992 may be a better experience.

The modern turbocharged engines have so much more torque under the curve that you can't really compare the two. The 3.0tt cars finally have enough torque to pull the insanely tall gears 911s have been cursed with.

I don't know if a 992 is a better overall experience. I think that depends on what you want from the car. It certainly has a much better interior and technology package. It has a lot more front grip. It has more power. It is a lot more isolated and a lot more computerized. Would I trade up from a 991.1? I'm not so sure. I'd probably be happy with either

I think you are right, both are nice for different reasons. I have the Turbo S 991.1 and a Cayman R ,and if I sold one it would be the Turbo S and keep the R. It is a better sounding ,car, more fun to drive, etc. But the Turbo S has such amazing grip and the brakes are off the charts. Hard to give that up, but the experience in the Turbo S is very removed, and quite dull. I like the sound of the 991.1 50th Anniversary, but for about the same money I can get a 2023 Carrera T. Two different worlds, one is not losing much value, but is 10 years older. Just dont' know.
Thanks,
john

Putting away? On trickle charger. Ready to go any good weather day. From dawn to dusk to dawn. Pic from my drive the other nite at midnight. She kept up pretty good with friend’s 458. Not just bulls running wild in NJ if ya know what i mean….I’m so obsessed with my T! 🙃

I hope this is the right forum thread for this question (let me know if it isn't) but would love thoughts on my T build. My change freeze date is 2/1/24 so I have plenty time to make changes. Here's my submitted build: https://configurator.porsche.com/porsche-code/PR5D5MR9

This will be a weekend/date night car for my wife and I. We have two kids under the age of 10 so after going back and forth a bunch decided to keep the rear seats since they can still fit. Mostly plan to take the car through windy mountain roads that are near us.

Any input on what I should consider or remove would be appreciated. I know everyone has their own build that's right for them, but would love to get input from the veterans as this is my first ever Porsche.
Great spec! I would recommend leather interior for an additional $4,530.
If you haven't already take a visit to your local dealer and view cars with full leather vs. not and see which you prefer. We did the same and both my wife and I preferred cars with leather.

I think the Exclusive Design wheels are the lightest, ~4 lbs lighter per wheel vs the standard CarreraT wheels if I remember correctly. So 16 lbs gain with those. Also the most expensive, I think...

Default 992 T clutch question

As my lock day on my 992 T is approaching. Can any of you help me to verify below:

Is the 992 T clutch engagement point is lower than the S?

Is the 922 T clutch is stiffer than the S?

Reason I asked is I dont have the opportunity to test drive the T in MT as the dealer does not have one. I went to a used car dealer and the T clutch is lot stiffer and the salesman said the engagement point is also lower than the S. I want to see if anyone who drove both can confirm this. When I test drive the S and I do not like how soft the clutch is and the engagement point is so high! This is my decision factor for the tranny selection. Thanks!

Considering that ~4 lbs per wheel is unsprung and rotating mass, that is actually a meaningful performance upgrade.

‘She kept up pretty good with friend’s 458’!
C’mon dude you’re just being modest as usual, it’s due to the skill of the driver, not the car’s potential🤩

@Devon Racer yes got the GR car two weeks ago today and took it to help my daughter move house the next day - she luves near Glastonbury so a good round trip. Left my wallet there so had to go back on the Monday to collect it 🙄. Ended up going through all manner if floods and ended up with a warning sign on the dash of a 911 on waves….

Anyway a few pics of the 1/8 mile woodland track to my house to amuse a few folks and give my excuses for garaging it dirty:

A few holes to fill
