992 Carrera T Club
Picked up my T today. Drove it home 200+ miles.
I have a few thoughts:
- For most people, this is the most car they ever need. Plenty of power. Fantastic dynamics. Brakes are insane.
- The interior is great and user friendly. This is my 4th p-car. It took me an hour once I got home to get everything set up but I finally figured it out and the UI is really good. The geo located garage door is awesome.
- Shifter is great. But compared to a gt3……
- Car is comfortable. The 4 way seats are a bit hard. I am tall and sort of thin and fit fine with a little fatigue after the drive from the seat hardness. The position of the seats is amazing. Felt well in control of the car.
- Car came with the Goodyears. Usually, I like the ps4’s but these are great. Read good things about them and the ride was smooth and quiet with these.
- Sound. Sound is really good. Lots of feedback in the cabin and much better than the base or S.
I built a very light build - manual, rear axle steer, some few options. Sticker was low relative to most people. There are no options I wish I had ordered after my drive.
Now the gripes:- The Bose sounds like crap relative to the Bose in my other p-cars. Maybe I need to tune it. But seems very thin in its sound.
- The black dash is so monotone and boring. Also, looks a bit cheap. I am glad I got a painted tach and exterior color in lays. I wish Porsche would do a better pattern in the plastic dash (like GT3 touring).
- The slate gray carrera t interior is too muted. Would have rather saved the money and got the standard interior or gone for green.
- The ambient lighting is a waste of money. Can barely see the colors.
- I did not order FAL. Don’t need it. I have a relative steep curb to get into my alley and had no problems.
- RAS is probably debatable. Most notable in the parking lot vs. on the road but I haven’t really pushed the car yet.
Now the questions:
- Can you get CarPlay song track name on the dash or just in the center display?
- How do you save the individual settings? Every time I turned off the car, the individual settings went away.
- Do the 18 ways have more padding?
Overall, I am glad I have one of these. This will be close to a daily driver - comfortable, fast enough, great dynamics. Much improved over 991.
Varied the revs for the first 200 miles to break in. I doubt I will last past 500 miles before I redline it. Never got it past 4200-ish today. Can wait to really thrash it. But, did manage to get the tail wagging as I left the dealership.

Individual settings can be saved to either memory seat or the key... Just keep playing around in the system, its possible but hard to give step by step instructions on here (read manual)
18 way seats have same padding as base seat, but because you can adjust literally every bolster and angle, it gives the feeling of more padding/grip vs base seats.

For me, upgrading audio and exhaust made a huge impact on how much I love driving my T….fun to drive at any speed now….

Heard this from many with Bose in T. U can make it sound very thick. U can add a micro processor (bass restorer/producer) and amplified sub. Have installer use custom harness and velcros (zero drilling) so completely removable without trace later if desired. PM me for details if you’d like to replicate. I just need to copy/paste PM sent to others. Many peeps that did same told me they’re extremely pleased with results….

Fantastic run through the beautiful Scottish Borders this morning (first time the car has been out of Wet mode in over a month !). Went out nice and early so not much traffic around, and made the most of it. Thoroughly enjoyed working the MT on some pretty decent roads.

Did you consider windshield PPF at all? How much is the glass protection? My car will see highways so I'm not sure what to do. Thanks
looks sooooooo good in GT Silver! My color of choice as well. 👍
