992 Carrera T Club
Burning Brakes
@celestequattro , the way I landed in a larger carriage, was that I planned to go in an SUV and I specified a bike rack on the roof. At that point I was allocated a larger bay.
Then at a last minute I changed cars to 992 T and I got a message that the system detected a car with lower ground clearance, but I am not sure if it made a diff.

So I am as confused as can be. I got an allocation for a Carrera T here in Florida. I have never owned a Porsche and am newbie as humanly possible. By the time the dealer made me option out the car the MSRP was over 150k which was their minimum. Others ask me why not get an s for that price? I had to put in things that I think defeat the whole point of the T like Rear wheel steering etc. I just don't know that I am doing the right thing here. Seems super strange to me. I would hate to not like the first one! Not to mention the dealer is also making me buy a watch which is likely 90% profit to them so they dont have to markup. The whole process thus far has been horrible, unfriendly, sketchy and really upsetting! Happy to share my build spec. I just feel dirty!

Share your build code! Maybe we can help figure out how to get you to $150k without defeating any T ethos.

Placing the order doesn't lock your build! You have until the "freeze" date to make changes.
To date I have gotten very little information. When would I find out when the freeze date is? As I mentioned, it has been a really bad experience thus far for me. Meanwhile, lets hear what you got for me!

OK, so this is really cool, or downright spooky, maybe both
We put a deposit on the Ruby Star Thursday afternoon, and today, just outside of our neighborhood, parked in a driveway a mile from our house, is this. Never seen it there before and I drive by there almost daily....it is on my coffee run.
Anyone here our new Ruby Star neighbor in Southborough Mass????

I vastly upgraded your interior, added deviated stitching to match your tach color choices, and removed all the superflous crap. Upgraded your headlights to get us to $150k.

As far as the freeze date, you can track this in your My Porsche account, assuming you at least got a build code from your dealer.

Thanks so much will review. I do have the build code in my office. I never got a single email from Porsche as I know I am supposed to. He was supposedly looking into it and have still not heard back on that. I asked when the freeze date was lets see what he sees. Again, Thanks so much. It is a shame getting one of these is such a racket though

Omit the CF roof, FAL, and RAS and you just saved yourself $8750.

Dealer minimums on order value (i.e., forcing you to add options) are incredibly offensive to me. Tell them to go fck themselves and find a new dealer.

Agree with this. I had a dealer offer me a car at “MSRP” if I spent a minimum of $17K in options. I told him, thanks but no thanks. Found a true MSRP allocation a couple of weeks after. Car is arriving in Feb, specced exactly how I wanted it (lightly)

Porsche when your v200 order is submitted. I had a shady dealer tell me a similar thing, when I asked for a commission number he sent me a photo of a sticky note saying “there’s your allocation”.

I could have got an S, but just as I was thinking about colours and options, news came out about the T.
My dealer suggested getting the T even if it meant waiting a bit longer because she had had such good feedback about the 991.2 T three years earlier.
Then the reviews about the 992 T starting arriving and every one raved about how good it was.
Get the T.
Forget FAL (I have it, it’s a waste)
Get RAS if your driveway is tight.
Get Bose.
Get leather dash and doors.
Get GT Silver with internal inlays
Get the car PPD’d
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Used to use a rack on the old 997 for bikes and Christmas tree collection a bit like these:
