For me, it is the versatility from the storage space behind the seats more than the rear seats themselves. The ability to quickly throw a backpack, carry on, grocery bags, whatever in the back seat area adds a lot of utility versus a true 2 seater. I don't want to have to pop the frunk every time I need to put something in the car.
