thanks so much!! Will follow up with details on the spec, relatively bare bones, but have been lurking in waiting for months so was very happy to have the shot on goal. I figure I will have the opportunity to spec one to my exact liking eventually

yes indeed - keen eye - the team there made everything seamless
Cool I was there an hour ago for something else. My T comes in dec, are you in town? We can do a cruise next spring.

Yes - would love to get the chance if ever up near Watkins Glen or in Western NY! Was able to enjoy some great food in Buffalo and beautiful roads on the way home.

Thank you! Fellow NY’er indeed, no affiliation with M&T. I will try and make it out to the Bear Mtn run, looks like a blast. Car came with the T side decal, agree it looks much better than I expected!

Has anyone tuned their T? If so, I'd love to hear from you. I'm considering M Engineering or APR but I'm concerned about changing the character of the factory tune, which I understand is different from the tune used on the base, though it remains unconfirmed and undisclosed by PAG. @tourenwagen I know you were considering it. Did you pull the trigger? Anyone else?

I put a Softronic tune on my 991.2 T. It unlocked a ton of power (combined with Soul cats, it probably added 100 hp). It is a lot of fun - but it also unbalanced the dynamics of the car in some ways. If you floor it, it will break traction in 2nd or 3rd gear, and I am now quickly burning through brake pads and rotors.

Thank you for sharing that. Beyond more power immediately available at lower RPMs, did the car feel different in terms of how it produced power? The T is very linear and peaks at around 6,500 but you don't feel it running out of breath and the sound it makes starting at about 6,500 is beautiful so I like to rev it to redline frequently. Those are qualities I'd like to retain.

I think the additional power available at lower RPMs occurs because the tune keeps the turbos spooled up. (I have my car setup so it uses the stock map on Normal mode and the Softronic map on Sport and Sport+ modes. I can see that cruising on the highway in Normal I have 0 psi of boost, whereas in Sport/Sport+ I have 1-2 psi.) What I notice more than anything - more than the low-end power delivery - is a bigger surge of power around 3000 rpm. It makes the car feel more turbocharged than the stock map.

As someone from Massachusetts that lived in Brooklyn for a couple years and now lives in Seattle... what? It's gotta be the classic NYC coffee cup or you are a tourist

AGREED! BTW, see that cup? My friend's father actually designed that cup! No kidding. I was shocked when I learned this. I don't think she's still getting royalties though

What you described is what concerns me. Turbos have come a long way and the Carrera, at least the T, is magical in that it feels and sounds almost NA. I love that about the car and don't want to turn it into a turbo-feel car just to access more power. The car doesn't need more power but I'll take it along withe the other "fixes" the M Engineering tune comes with like open valves, start/stop delete etc. but not at the expense of changing the character of the car. Thank you for this. Very helpful.
