Just got offered a GT4 allocation. Do I pivot and get one of those instead of the Carrera T?

At MSRP? YES. Otherwise, get in touch with your inner ethos and see which one is more pure for you.

Honestly, some people here are trading in GT4's towards a T so maybe stick with T. Depends if you are focused on track time or daily time.

You really need to ask yourself what you want out of a car.

The T and GT4 are really nothing alike, except for the fact that they share a Porsche crest on the frunk (yes, hyperbole, but you get the point).

If you are asking here in the T thread, you already have your answer.

You would think that's true, but I recently test drove a 718 GT4 (LWBS, 6MT) and 911.2 T (LWBS, RAS, 7MT) back to back and I was surprised at how similar they drove, how similar the internal space was, and how similar the ergonomics/design was. We are making mountains out of molehills in the Porsche line-up.

In terms of cars, they drive very similarly. In terms of Porsches, they are pretty different. I have driven both. Just my opinion.

Just get both and sell whichever you don't want for a profit :-)

You’ve driven the 992 T? Tell us more.

And people wonder why enthusiasts can’t get allocations at MSRP?

I believe Mr. Maboomba was comparing a 991.2 T and a 718GT4 in his post. I have driven both of those. I apologize for any confusion.

I actually used the word Ethos at work today at least a half dozen times.. Unfortunately the only way it looks like I will get a T allocation is by buying one. An acquaintance of an acquaintance is allegedly selling a MSRP allocation for $9K USD. I may be out of touch with the market but to me that seems a bit pricey? I don’t have much time to make up my mind about it either. If I pay for the allocation I might not be able to swing the carbon roof and titanium lugs, which would be blaspheming the Ethos of the T (IMO). Decisions, decisions….

It's actually what I'm doing! Seriously. I have a CGTS 4.0. Best driving car I've ever driven. I'm buying a 911T because I can't get the damned 911 out of my system. My biggest dilemma will be if I decide to keep them both! lol

You truly are in tune with the Tethos. I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone mention the Titanium Bolts yet! 2.2lbs savings! For only $1800! And unsprung, too!

Serious now: $9k is actually less than many dealerships are charging as ADM so depends what's worth it to you.
