Probably the best, most accurate, review I've seen yet. I agree 98%. I differ in that I think the standard sport seats are pretty good and I am in the simpler is better no-RAS camp. I agree with them that the biggest downside is a lack of theater. It is not so much an event driving a Carrera. The upside of that is it is a more everyday usable machine. A common criticism of modern Carreras is that they are too good, almost sterile or lacking in character and personality. To amp that up you have to move into a GT car, or look to the competition.

[QUOTE=TUD;19121330]🤷‍♂️ Source? I have watched a ton of their videos and never heard or got the impression that Jack owns a Porsche. There have been many times that Jack has stated that he has difficulty giving the money for the product and if he went back to his educated employment as an engineer then he could afford one and it appears that it would be a GT car.

There have been videos where Mark gives Jack a lot of grief for his Porsche almost fetish admiration. I thought in one of these videos Jack explains why he drives Porsche. Then as you point out I saw the video where her gets grief from Mark again for going against his Porsche fanboy views and bought the mid engine Z06 as he does so a lot of track driving. All this gave me the idea he drove Porsche before his ZO6 purchase.

I'm not going to dig through the videos but if you think otherwise then so be it. My impressions always were he was a Porsche head. And Porsche head’s usually own Porsches.

Before I luckily had my date moved up to get Shark Blue, my production date was supposed to be 4/7 so a few days after this one, probably very near the end of the 992.1 line.

You might have missed the point of the video. But I do agree as short as the drive portion was, the road wasn’t great production.

What was the point of the video?

May slightly improve track time and save a life for some less experienced drives on the road that try to push the car to its limits without the proper skill set.

This may all be well and true, but it has nothing to do with the Carrera T specifically. In fact, I think it’s pretty easy to argue the Carrera T is a more exciting modern 911 than several of the other variants.

I thought they did a decent job with the review, but unfortunately spent way too much time talking about the modern Carrera generally rather than the 992 Carrera T specifically.

Sure, but then you lose the everyday drivability. There is no perfect car for all driving.

No offense, but that may be the least compelling reason to add RAS I’ve heard yet.

I see it as, the 911, a perfection over time to a point of an average daily driver or when you want it to be a sports car, and you need to feel it. Or climb the ladder to a gt3 etc if you want a killer performance machine in perfect form over function.

Otherwise the 911T is the best of all worlds for most of us. Just my take. Not the road less traveled.

These are what the roads in rural Illinois look like. Of course it's boring in anything outside of a raw racecar, and why they feel they need a GT3 or a Z06 to be excited at the expense of usability.

For those of us who have access to good roads year round, a car like the T with a manual transmission makes a ton more sense because we can actually use it and have fun all the time... And bring the kiddos or luggage along for the ride.

None taken. Better handling around a corner just seems safer. All good.

I know which video you are speaking of. Mark also tends to make that comment frequently. Jack has plenty of photos of his Z06 on his Instagram page, but any Porsche that is photographed on there is a press car.

Just because one is a “Porsche head” does not mean they have the financial means to own and maintain one. I am a Ferrari enthusiast, but I do not own one. Not yet. 😂

Sure I agree. Just transplanted from great roads in Northern Virginia to straight and flat roads of Naples Florida I too will feel that pain when my T comes in.

That's the place where they drive just about everything - so I think it is great as it provides some sort of repeatable comparison against all the other cars they review. I wish they would have taken it out on Gingerman raceway where they take other performance cars. Then again they did state that they probably can't tell the difference between the different non-GT 911 variants without jumping directly from one to another.

Either way, a good bit of confirmation bias for me. Great at daily duty but plenty fast and fun when you want it to be. And they allude to the 992 package as the industry performance benchmark (price aside)...almost to a fault where excitement and personality are eliminated in the pursuit of engineering perfection.
