I think they did this because it makes it look like the headlight is sparkling by reflecting more light (it's light silver not white). It not noticeable unless you're looking for it, otherwise. It you hate it and want to get rid of another $1,250, have at it though.
FYI, @Macboy knows exactly what the standard headlights look like in person as he has them and regrets not optioning PDLS+ to rid himself of the white/silver (whatever one prefers to call it).

I am with you on no cost interior, standard seats, but could not get my wife to agree on no sunroof..... whatever excuse i brought she said NO gotta get sunroof... so i did.. Happy wife Happy Life
Actually, I can’t do a no-cost interior. I optioned full leather, only because I’ve had a couple of 911’s where I skipped it, and the plastic dash really bothered me. I think if you’re going to go with a no-cost interior, the Carrera T is a good model for it, because of the “less is more” approach others have mentioned. But my 991T had the plastic dash and I promised myself never again.
As for your decision to get a sunroof, I get it. Everyone has different interests. For me, in addition to adding weight, raising the center of gravity and adding a motor that may break and cost to fix down the road, I just don’t use it. I love my wife dearly, but she typically has to put up with a closed top and 918 buckets on my builds. And like some others here, she would also prefer contrast stitching. But I think she does pretty well with her other interests.
That’s a good problem to have. But to your point, this is why I wish Janko would take a break from retirement and review the 992T. He did such a great job with the 991T. Reviewers like Janko and SG are refreshing because they are strongly opinionated and nonformulaic.

Every other reviewer since Feb (I’ve read / watched them all), has raved about it, with the majority saying it’s the ‘sweet spot’ of the non-GT 992’s.
In fact it’s become quite boring reading or watching Carrera T reviews because you know in advance what the summary is gonna be.
They have been singing its praises since November last year
