I can’t stand all of the cookie-cutter marketing-ploy reviews. You never got that with Janko.

The GTS is a mini Turbo. Makes no sense to get one with manual gearbox (turbo lag, too much torque), for full experience go for a GTS4, PDK. If you want an open top, to compensate the loss of the Spyder, go for the GTS cabrio, PDK. Thus you can get everything
PDK is not an option and is not being considered. If they made a Turbo in a manual, I would consider that.

I briefly considered the GTS Targa but that extra 200lbs and the compromised back seat make it a no-go. It does look cool though.

If my dealer tells me next month that I have a GT3 allocation, then I will probably go that route and **** everyone off (can you sleep in the back of a GT3, asking for a friend).

The T is probably the way to go but the limited colors and options hold me back but it is the sensible choice. As far as total cost of ownership, it is also cheaper as the GTS depreciates at a rate of about $7k a year and a T (based on the previous platform) about $2k a year. Of course that is not the deciding factor but I look at cost of ownership in any big purchase. A GT3 or Spyder is negligible so cost of ownership is tires, gas, and maintenance and opportunity cost of course.

Anyway, I have two T builds and am waiting for my dealer to tell me which allocation he will give me next month: GB with leather T interior package in grey and the IGM with leather green interior.

I really would like to drive one of these though to see if it gives me enough. I would hate to lose my Spyder and feel meh about it. Of, I just keep the Spyder and sell it for MSRP in 10 years. I do have V4 Aprilia so I can get my need for speed else ware.

Having over 100 "911 Carrera T" videos stashed in my library, the Janko vid on the 991.2 T initially wasn't a favourite. But, like the car itself, it is now. I feel the "Carrera T" tag has perhaps earned its stripes since it's introduction with the 991.2. It was not widely accepted or praised initially as the marketing was a bit off in my opinion. The model was and still is one that can easily be undone by excessive options or deleting T-specific items. The T truly is a successor to the 80's Club Sport as well as the 90's 964 RS America (NOT the ROW 964 RS) though I feel Porsche has given customers (and more often than not dealers) the option to seriously dilute the model through, I hate to say it, excessive choice. Both the 80's CS and the 90s 964RSA were offered with only a very small handful of options and even colours. Porsche's decision to offer more options is likely for the better as the "ultimate/enthusiast spec" cars are truly rare pieces. Below are how I see the T model:

991.2 Carrera T "ultimate spec"
-manual
-buckets
-PCCB
-rear-wheel steering

992 Carrera T "ultimate spec":
-manual
-buckets (finally available)
-rear wheel steering

Cars so equipped best unlock the car suggested by the marketing. Flame suit on.

It's interesting RAS is included in both iterations of the T while the latest and greatest 911, the S/T's engineers especially made a point to NOT include RAS on that car in spite of it being part of the backbone of the GT3. Apparently Walter Rohrl who was intimately involved in the development of the S/T hated it and ensured it was ditched in favor of no RAS. I just drove the Glen again Monday and can say without reservation, the car handles direction change very competently, even in the wet which we did get plenty of.

I am uncertain as to how because the main subject was you stating that there has been a price increase when there has not been. Base MSRP is still $124,900 + $1650 destination fee for a total MSRP of $126,550.

I largely agree with everything you said, though we differ on RAS. I optioned it on my 991.2 T because I thought it fit the purpose of the model. But I just don’t like it and I refused to option it on my 992. Skipping it, of course, does allow one a driving experience that is more akin to yesterday’s 911’s. So while I agree with you that there are too many options, I am at least happy there was the option to skip RAS!

feel sorry for you, as I know it's not the first to go bust. And also, had to cut the track fun short because of it.
Last week, when I've washed the car, after parking it back in the garage, I saw a few lines in the windshield. After seeing your first window crack, then @Macboy's windshield break...I was almost sure that mine went the way of the doodoo too.
Took me a few days to build up enough courage to open the garage and today I drove the car into sunlight, ready to asses the "broken" windshield. Well, it wasn't cracked, the lines were too "straight" and in at least 4 places...looks like a wireless antenna. Phew. Then went to put some air into the tires. Somehow I lost 0.3 bar in a week, in all 4 tires, down to 2.0/2.4 bar (29/34) front and back.
