Changing topics....... haven't taken delivery yet, but did get to take a look during PDI. Definitely liking it so far! Then on for PPF (front end) and ceramic.
That is jaw dropping...head turning...one of the best put together Targa'sI have seen. Love the interior too! Stunning!
Also just checked...my SA was true to his word...car i on the way "Houston we have launch!"...Movement! Car on the way to dealership. Thinking given my schedule next week Black Friday can pickup or the following Sat when am off! Even TYD updated! .

Thanks - appreciate that! Can't wait to drive it.... BTW, I had a 2017 991.2 Carrera 4S in agate gray/black - similar to your previous 991.1. You obviously have very good taste (!).
I have entered the pain zone so many of you have had to endure. No more countdown for me just purgatory and it's so close.
My TYD did not update to "actual date" of en route until I was literally standing in the showroom after looking at the car back in service getting PDI done. Keep the faith - it will be there soon and a very short ride once it gets on the truck.
Okay, I just received a detailed explanation from my GSM as to why my car has been pushed to a December 4 release - regional rep tracked my car down and called him to explain. It has been held for "Quality Action," which in Porsche speak means that I have the honor of my car being randomly selected by Porsche NA for a detailed quality control evaluation. No damage or wreck of any kind, just a top to bottom once over by some type of technical team. It may or may not be released before December 4. Apparently my car shows the QA code, so if yours has been delayed like mine ask your SA look for this particular hold.
I would prefer to have my car now but at least it will have an additional "blessing" of sorts before it reaches my hands.
Just got of the phone with my SA his words “lots of cars are releasing, get ready”. NJ based dealership
I don't have anything on order - just work with a lot of dealers; NYC-area dealers just got a lot of cars released to them. NJ-based ones had a delay for whatever reason, so they were all pilling up, but yes I heard the same that they are about to be released.

Wish they could give some additional details at this point. After telling me that they expect my car to be delivered this week, my SA has gone quiet again, and not that it means anything, but my TYD shows nothing but dashes and yet is still stuck in "port processing". Enough is enough -- I want my car...

You're in NJ? What dealership did you purchase from? From the dealers I spoke with, they themselves haven't gotten much info about the delays. Weird to see NYC dealers getting the cars released while NJ isn't though.

That seems pretty strange to me. Why wouldn't they arrange for these QA inspections to be done on "dealer inventory" vehicles, as opposed to "customer vehicles." I've heard from my SA that for truck transport they prioritize customer vehicles when they need to. Seems like they'd also like to get your cash sooner rather than later, although at this point it's all relative....

Don't put any stock in what TYD is saying. I got a message through Porsche/TYD that my car was finally "en route" on Wednesday of this week. Received the message while I was at the dealership taking a look at the car (while they were still doing the PDI). From all the noise out there it's pretty clear that CARB certification has been received, so presumably just waiting your turn to get on a truck. Hope so. Good luck!
I can report that my TYD was accurate all the way from when I got it working to today. My car is waiting for me at the dealership. My only regret is not going with the 20/21 wheels.
