Yes we do get exactly the same cars here in non-Carb states. So I would like to thank @peterdouglas for having the patience to wait for his car and in so doing help to keep us non-Carb states' air cleaner. You wait...we benefit. Thanks for taking one for the Non-Carb team!

Tried to embed a video about being happy but failed.
I am reminded of what an attorney friend of mine has said more than once:
"If I would have just taken one course in Psychology in college it might have saved me from a legal career."

Cancer is not political. Deaths due to cancer are not political. I will ask the rhetorical question: Why has a deadly infectious disease become political?
In my profession, I deal with the threat of this virus daily. Only a fool would not take this pandemic seriously.
Let’s keep to the topic of this thread and stop the in-fighting. I have had my say and will not comment further.

Appreciate your thoughtfulness, but I don’t actually care whether my TTS does or doesn’t have a gpf. I ordered the TTS for its performance, not its exhaust noise. If it has a gpf, all the better (for everyone) given the reduced emissions benefit.

For those who live in an alternate reality: Currently, the mortality rate from COVID -19 is 2.2%. On November 21, 1,428 US citizens died from it. There have been a total of 258,000 American souls who have died in the past 10 months as a direct result of being infected by the virus. 291,000 US soldiers perished in the 42 months we participated in WW II. Infectious disease specialists project 400,000 dead in the US by February 1 as the virus spread accelerates due to the holidays, cold weather and schmucks that don’t take it seriously.

Terminology is important though, so just to clarify the case fatality rate in the US is currently around 2%, and is highly dependent on age and co-morbidities. That case fatality rate is a significant overestimation of the infection mortality rate, since many people who are infected are either asymptomatic or not sick enough to be tested and therefore are not counted in the denominator of "cases". Only with very widespread surveillance testing would we have a better estimate of the true case fatality rate. Recent estimates that I've seen put that at around 0.4%. Mortality rate per se is much lower, as the denominator for that is the total population. So for the US right now, overall mortality rate from the pandemic would be estimated at around 256,000/350,000,000, or around 0.07%.
And it's a travesty that all of this is so politically charged, but what isn't these days? It would help if our "leaders" provided consistent and rational direction (and practiced what they preach).

The 256,000 number is highly suspect. The reality is that actual COVID deaths are arguably far far lower. According to the CDC, the actual number of COVID deaths for people who had no other known co-morbidities is 6% of that. Yes, people have died from the virus and every loss of life is tragic, but the actual number of people who died from COVID and ONLY COVID is far lower than 250k. Bottom line, the idea of locking down the whole country and a “dark winter” as Biden put it, is madness, and politically motivated to hurt Trump as much as possible. Obama and Biden did nothing for six months while the country reeled from Swine Flu. This is totally politicized. If we weren’t in an election year, and Trump were not POTUS, the political climate and handling of COVID would be completely different.

The 29 year old gentleman holding his 2 year old daughter that I had to tell on Friday that there was nothing else I could do for his wife and their 23 week old unborn child did not care who won the election, lockdowns, mortality rates, conspiracy theories, or anyone’s uneducated opinion on masks. This pandemic is real and healthy people are dying in a way and frequency I have never seen before and hope to never experience again in my career.
This forum and the new arrival of my 992 are a blessed escape from the hell I walk into everyday at my hospital.
Take care of each other, be kind, and lets stick to discussing these incredible automobiles that we are all so very lucky to be able to enjoy. For me and many of my colleagues our cars and the fellowship that surrounds them are one of the few bright spots in our lives.

Back to the 992, can't help but wonder if the VAG dieselgate episode has anything to do with the delays. Lack of trust by CARB of manufacturers, especially VW, would be a likely result. Nonetheless, the dearth of timely communication, of whatever the problem is, from Porsche is frustrating . . .

Just re-checked my TYD page. I guess I'm a gluten for punishment. No surprise. The C2S that neither I nor the dealer has, was apparently delivered without anyone's knowledge, to the dealer and me last Friday.

Getting back to the cars, has anyone asked PCNA or their dealer for anything as compensation for the delay? A second year of complimentary service? New battery? Discount on the sale price? Anything? If so, any luck? Worth noting that people who pre-traded cars have essentially provided an interest free loan for [x] months.
