I WISH porsche had an iphone app like that for coding.
I wasn’t aware it was that easy using Bimmercode. Hopefully Porsche follows suit. I want to code my incoming 911.

After some time without coding, I found the steering wheel sensitivity control. Default is medium. There's two above it.
On normal, no difference. On sport and sport + (track on my car), there's a significant change in ratio, it feels more direct, not necessarily heavier. Next I'll try the upper option.
Also in the same module, brake booster sensitivity, which I did not try due to safety reasons. Will try soon.

You can get it from several places depending on your ability/aptitude with Windows software. Personally not having access to any PCs (other than an old XP SP2 netbook) after 2 days I opted (for an extra 90 odd bucks) to get an external SSD drive with the PIWIS software on it shipped to me (with IMPRINT and KEYGEN installed - more below). Also downloading (depending on your bandwidth) 90 GB took me 9 hours.

I'll be booting off an old MBP under Win8 (comes on the SSD) with the external 2TB SSD.

If not, you can pay (depending on whether you need the v 38.x or 40.500.x or both versions; the latter being the one that works with 992s) for whatever flavor you want. IIRR the single v 38 is around 300 odd euros and the dual v38 and 40 is around 500 euros. The single v38 works up to 991.1 and 991.2.

You can get this from belauto at : v9500357811@gmail.com; payment via PayPal. I can vouch that CS with Alex is absolutely first class. A last thought on this option is that if you download the software and install it, you will have to give access to Alex for him to install the KEYGEN and IMPRINT without this it won't work. It's their way of ensuring they retain control of the software as you reselling it sans that won't work.

A word of caution. It seems the Win8 system used is "odd" and configured for this. I would not use that OS for anything else.

You can also buy from China a laptop (either Lenovo Yoga or Panasonic CF-MX4 is a favorite) with the software, laptop and dongle (VAS6154) from vxdas.com. Price around $1,400 bucks. Some folks have said to be cautious of that, but it's another option perhaps folks who have gone this route can opine.

Lastly if you do go with belauto mention what dongle and software version (the one most folks here say works is 1.6.6.0 and don't let it update from that) you'll be using.

And really lastly some folks have used the VAS6154 via WiFi something I find VERY VERY useful and missing from my VAG-COM but present in my Launch. However Porsche specifically has issued a warning not to use BT or WiFi due to (potential) problems. If folks have used WiFi please post with your experiences. The last thing you want is you car turning into a brick due to a data corruption.

Hope that helps

PS You can't modify PSE via PIWIS sans modifying your exhaust

I found the entrance on the DME module, but I can't write to it. Perhaps not enough voltage or it's locked.

Thanks for the information
could you provide more details for the first option? " external SSD drive with the PIWIS software on it shipped to me (with IMPRINT and KEYGEN installed - more below"
I checked the belAuto site and not quite understand what I am getting, for example
Piwis 3 for Vas6154 clone
  • v. 38.250 Full development mode + 38.900 Development mode 2 in 1 ( the installation requires SSD 240GB)
  • for Chinese clone VAS6154
  • price - 300 Euro
is above only for the software? or is it for the SSD with everything installed? do i need to purchase the VAS6154 separately?
thanks a lot

Yes this is all very confusing and to set your mind at ease it gets worse as you follow along.

So the question is how good are your IT skills, do you have a PC or Mac (or Linux) etc. that will decide really what path you'll probably follow.

In my case I just have a very old PC XP SP2 that I only use for my VAG-COM analyzer. I don't have any other PCs. So I would have to (I thought) run in emulation and thereby save my recently retired mid 2012 MBP and put it to good use. Given some new options in discussing with fellow members perhaps a cheap used PC would be the way to go replacing the the drive.

Next, downloading vs ordering a ready made drive. Given my very slow network speed downloading 90GB took a day and after one thing and another not working (dealing with the MAC environment), I simply asked Alex to send me an SSD with everything in it, registered et al. For this there's an added 90 odd bucks charge (drive, labor and postage) and you'll get a SATA 3 2.5" SSD.

You still need to get the VAS6154 (the VCI or dongle or OBD2 connector) with the correct version (1.6.6.0). You can get those from China or I presume Alex can get it for you, I don't know about that.

So the 300 euro version is for the previous latest or v 38.x.x and that will work for all up to 991s. If you want to also have what works on the 992s or what the dealers have, that cost is a dual version including v38.x.x and v 40.x.x

So yes this is for the software and you can download it and using Macrium unbundle it and install it on your PC or run VMWare Fusion or Pararallels or Boot Camp and run under emulation.

Hope I've answered your questions.
