That's true. By now you probably already perused the Panamera section thread on PIWIS.
The guys there understand this whole clone business far better than I. I got mine ready to use. I learned my lesson coding beemers in a past life.
PIWIS resources are vast, but there's a lot to learn on how to activate software. Next task is full screen CarPlay. I activated android auto but I don't have a newer phone to try.
I've been to Alaska, one of the most striking places I've seen. Did the whole touristic thing. White pass, glacier, dog sled, orca watching.

Best way to do it. Rent an RV and drive up from Anchorage, up the Park Highway you'll also see the various monuments dedicated to Siberian's epic trip with his brand new 992C4S! Hotels are expensive and few between (all the large ones are owned by cruise lines), an RV is the way to go. Let me know when you land will start chilling the beer.

PS TBH, Kings are an acquired taste, I find them a wee bit too fatty and prefer the Copper River reds and of course halibut, shrimp and king crab.

First time I saw king salmon I thought they mixed my plates, then I tasted it. I tried to find some local game to try but it wasn't the taste of the typical tourist, so next time.
There's a Renaissance man. The idea of RV from anchorage is the one floating here. I'm fortunate that my wife is into cars and driving. Well, I do have to share the car on track days, still needing to improve my sharing skills...

Local game is difficult as most is not for sale: Moose, caribou, dall sheep and black bear (acquired taste) for example are hunt only. If you're into hunting I know a friend who has a Pilatus and can fly you wherever your pocketbook can handle (Brooks Range...) but ... you need a hunting license.
Google RV Alaska plenty of choices out of Anchorage and the way to go.

Wet mode only on the display.
Will drive and see what happens. I suspect it's all a GT3 gimmick.

Has anyone done maintenance to PIWIS III? Under Tools->Data, File management, there are all the Log folders.
I'm curious which ones can be deleted to clean things up-
I'll post on the other Piwis threads, maybe someone has info
Thanks

Not specifically 992 related, but has only figured out how to turn off Auto Start Stop by default? I have a 991.2 Turbo S and I've set everything Auto Start Stop related in the DME and Gateway modules to "nein", I get a "System Fault" on the dashboard when coding and none of the settings seem to hold. Any thought?

Drifting
I had "Almaretto" code my M550 for this functionality, but required more than checking an on/off if I remember correctly. Also like coding a Video in motion, not just 1 parameter that had to be changed, but many. I've used the BimmerCode app, but it doesn't allow this turn on.

Three Wheelin'
Ah the BMW coding days. I think Mike Benvo was first. Then that guy in LA, Alex? And I remember see Amaretto doing it as well. You know apple has an iphone app that does all that BMW coding now? Its called bimmercode. You just buy the BT OBD2 dongle and buy the 39 dollar app and go to town. It's pretty slick! And it you can revert back too. I WISH porsche had an iphone app like that for coding.
