Not strictly for the 992, but thought I’d bring the garage up to scratch 😉

A long drive finished with a nice detailing today. I’ll be leaving town for business this week. Gave me a chance to use the car cover for the first time.
Easier with two people. So I put my wife to work lol
Not sure when I’ll drive it next. I’m in the process of refreshing a 1978 911SC targa & that might be taking up some of my time.
The thread is over here if anyone is interested. I may put the car up for sale after the work is done.

Reading your write up about the '78 Targa reminded me of the '74 Targa I bought slightly used in '75 (silver with black interior--MSRP-$10,000). I recall a number of times hearing a loud bang and finding the air box blown off--just had to slip it back on and tighten the clamp. I never installed an anti-backfire device--only kept it for a few years.

I’m thinking about adding this once my car comes in. Let me know how/when you install it and how hard it was. Also, does the US key have the actual “button” on it for this mod? Last question, do you think this could in any way affect warranty like if the top breaks? I might ask my dealer what they think as well as I’m sure they might differ.

So this happened...
Ordered the exclusive taillight kit and only changed out the light bar and bacon strips...
The taillights are still in the box if anyone is interested...

I’ve only just installed it but the 10 or so tests runs show all functionality works fine. I had a buddy install one on his Boxster which is under the seat. He disconnected the battery to remove the seat due to airbag disconnect. He had some problems with windows after reconnection but letting it sit overnight solved those issues. I never disconnected the battery so I didn’t have any of those issues. If I discover something down the road I’ll report back. All good for now.
