I cut a strip along the 5" edge 5/16" wide.

The color side of the film comes with a very thin clear coating that you need to remove before installation. The adhesive on the backside of the tape will not adhere to the clear film when you wrap the tape over itself.

Lastly I used a very thin plastic trim tool to tuck the edges in around and into the circular grooves on the steering wheel that you are covering with this tape.

.

Any idea on how easy it will be to get off with regards to leaving residue?

Would love to find a thin leather strip

BTW did any of you guys get a gift from Porsche? Mine arrived today. Nice pen!

Package from Porsche

Nice welcome to your 992 setup
it is very nice but it is the same that one gets for a base macan CPO - would have been nice to have moved up to say Montblanc territory for a coar 3-4X the value

Also installed clear corner lights, painted Porsche center caps. New Carbonio spring-loaded front plate bracket mount and new Michelin Alpin 5s on the way tomorrow.
Looks great!

@ryandarr1979 any pics of the front plate mount? Did you self-install?

Also added Michelin PA5s today, so with my luck, probably won’t get any more snow this season. You’re welcome everyone.

Ryan I dont know how else to say this, other than just saying it... But that plate placement looks awful. What's the story behind why you have that there?

No worries Perm, I get it. Carbonio makes a spring loaded bracket that mounts under the bumper in seconds with no drilled holes, using existing holes in the bottom of the bumper. Massachusetts requires a front plate. I just put this on to get an inspection sticker. I’m planning on having it spend most of its time in the frunk. I’m going to make some tweaks to get it a little higher but not too much so that it doesn’t impede the front camera. This is a horrible angle shot but the plate actually sits higher than the front splitter by quite a bit. I would have taken the picture lower and kneeling but didn’t want to get my slacks wet and dirty from the snow.

Oh I see. I was going to say, that doesn’t seem like your style.

I have a 15 dollar Amazon plate mount that I double stick taped to the bumper for fix it tickets. Otherwise I rock no front plate. I got caught once and simply taped it one, got it sighed off, payed the fine and off it went until next time.

At my shop here in Toronto. Cost would be about $100... I think it turned out well.

I like, I especially like that you did not use the plastic middle piece that it comes with which I think is not as nice as keeping the original chrome.
LOL I love the tile - I have two lined up waiting and waiting. Unfortunately having two brightly covered keys is still not going to be good enough to stop me from losing the keys.

Welp, bought a set of these for my new 992 and then got a second set thrown in by my dealer. By far the easiest aesthetic mod you can do. Huge visual impact.

I guess I’ll sell the second set, send a PM if you want to save a few bucks off Suncoast.

Default Garmin Mini-Cam, Test Run, 2 Min Video Example

FYI

I installed a Garmin Dash Mini-Cam yesterday. (Picture of Camera Below)

The link to YouTube, is a short (2 minute) video capture that I saved from the camera today.

It seems to do a fairly good job. Or at least better than I'd expected.

.

Nice video. A few questions:
How big is this unit - it looks relatively small. Could you post a pic of it installed to see the scale? Also, what was the main reason you installed the camera? Insurance?
