I don't believe you need to remove the door panel. A trim tool should be sufficient to pop the original out. The replacement just snaps back into place.
There are quite a number of YouTube Videos on this subject. This one is showing a Macan (I believe), but the task is identical on a 911. A number of the YouTube videos seem to spend a good bit of time where the author expounds on their extensive opinions. This one does that a bit as well, but at least he gets to the point fairly quickly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zijxrENmR8
Didn't remove the door panels when I did mine. Took maybe 20 minutes most of which was spent figuring out the technique on the first one. My experience with the cheap China versions is that the image fades away in a year or so.
Looking good! I have been pondering on doing exactly the same... A few questions: did you paint the sills yourself or had them painted somewhere? Where did you order them from? It seems that there's slight variation in prices, depending on the supplier...
The dealer quoted me roughly 2k USD in total for the sills, paint and installation work but 1k for the paint + work seems a bit harsh, as it's not exactly rocket science to install them... How many minutes did it take for you, 30-40 perhaps?
Thank you TheGreatJ. I am a certified painter but elected to have them done by a Porsche Authorized repair shop. Dropped off on Monday AM and picked up Tuesday late afternoon. Cost was $371. Cost of all materials required would have been more than it costs to send them out. I provided one of the tow caps as a sample so the shop could match colors. Came out perfect!
Purchased at Suncoast price, comes as a complete kit with everything you need. I found that I did not need to use any of the spacers, or clips as mine were all tight and up damaged from the original removal. Pay close attention to how the plastics are stacked up underneath so you can reinstall properly.
Removal of the first was slow as I wanted to ensure I didn’t damage anything. Took about 20 minutes. 2nd one cam off in 10 min. About 25 minutes for 1st installation as I had a challenge lining up one screw. 2nd install was easy and much quicker.
Just wondering what was involved in the install of the puddle lights. The OEM puddle lights require you remove the door panel. Thanks for any info.
I have installed in. Cayenne, Macan and Carrera. For the 992, the lights did not just pop out and pop in. There are some very slight differences in the outer mold line of the plastic base that snaps inside of the door panel. I examined both and elected to trim my new one to match to original that was removed. Once accomp,I shed (with patience) the assembly fit in the door panel.
sorry but no pictures. Trim carefully as you don’t have much to make a mistake with

In some ways the stands are easier to use on the 992 than they are on some earlier cars like the 996 where the lift point is slightly recessed in the underside pan of the car.
The little plastic piece around the cup holder in an otherwise leather cabin always bugged me. Bought the leather one from Suncoast. 5 minute pop out pop in. Easy mod.
BINGO! That's what I did! When I saw these up close and personal, in gloss black . . . . that was all it took. IMHO, as good as they look, you can only stretch the original Fuch look so far.
