Official waiting room for those with a new 992 on order --- come on in !!
Just got off the phone with Porsche North America. I asked if they could give me any more information on why I've been at port so long and keep missing boats when other customers are getting to port after I am and going to the same US port and getting on boats. They essentially told me to talk to my SA and they don't have any additional information. Awesome! I'm calling BS, but nothing I can really do here. I'm checking out for the next couple of months so I wish everyone waiting on a boat to get on the next one. Doesn't really matter for me if I wait at Emden or my dealership so hopefully they'll keep bumping my car and getting one more of you guys on.
Side note, anyone worried about their Li-Ion battery discharging at port while waiting for a boat? How long can they go without a trickle charger before running into issues?

PS: let’s be real here, you are not checking out 100% cold turkey, you’ll still be peeking here with one eye haha

In fact, I'm thinking of deleting the TYD tracking since I already have the photos and now that my car is at Emden the forecast dates are at best useless and at worst misleading. Should be called Trigger Your Disappointment.

Don't care at this point. Whether it's on the Siem Confucius or the next couple of boats after that it is almost certain to arrive at the dealer while I am out of town on vacation. So hopefully Porsche will NOT load my car on the boat and instead give the slot to someone who can take advantage of it.

All in all, Porsche, D for software experience. As someone with 40+ years in IT, I can tell you that no software is better than bad software, and this is bad software.

I heard that the cars are put in a transport mode that has less battery draw. The dealerships change it back to normal during the PDI. That doesn’t exactly answer your question, and yes, I would assume it still becomes an issue if it sits for weeks.
Thank you, I figured there'd be a mode like this. My car has been sitting for almost 2 months now with no end in sight. I know the Li-Ion batteries are very expensive too. Awesome!

The SFL Conductor is making a stop at a port in the Netherlands today. Forgot to top up the fuel tanks? If picking up cargo that would seem like a short ride to Emden.

Someone much earlier in this thread mentioned that the Vlissingen port is a refueling depot. Not sure if that's accurate, but makes sense.

MarineTraffic had it at July 2nd the last time I looked.
Just 4 weeks so far, but who knows how long it will take. There are folks here reporting delays of 2, 3 or even more months. And the dates in TYD are meaningless.
