I think what’s super frustrating for folks is that cars arriving on the same day according to TYD sometimes arbitrarily make some ships and some don’t on an almost random fashion. There is little doubt in my mind that Porsche if they’re going to bother with something like TYD then it behooves them to be more transparent and forthcoming with info when FIFO goes out the window due to logistic snarls.
1000% agree. That’s my biggest gripe.
My allocation is from 11/2022. How am I still waiting for this car?!
I’m outta here! Can’t recommend enough one of the PEC experiences, what a day! Even with the new much more expensive price, I’d do it again for the next car.
That all works fine when you have sufficient space to order the cars per destination. When all the lines are filled, and you continue receiving cars going to different destinations, all goes to hell. Perhaps they could have rented more space. What if there’s no more space available at the port?
Remember, this is no longer Porsche taking care of these logistics. The shipping company is in charge once the cars arrive to the port.
Let's pretend that's true. Let's pretend that Porsche just drops off cars at the port with window stickers that say "Houston" or "Jacksonville" or "Baltimore" and that they let the carrier park the cars wherever they want and then pick whatever cars they want to ship whenever they want to ship them. I don't believe that for a second but, like I said, let's pretend.
First off, shame on the VAG for having that kind of process and relationship with the carrier. While they may have contracted for delivery by one or more shipping companies, they are still ultimately responsible for delivery of cars to the dealers. Abrogating their responsibility like this is unacceptable.
But fine, let's say that's the case. At least they know what cars the carrier has decided to be gracious enough to load on each ship. Why, then, do they leave TYD "left the port" dates for cars up long after the dates have passed? They know the car wasn't loaded, and they know the date has passed, but they don't update the timelines of the cars. Why not? Is it because they don't know what the date will be? Well, that's been true all along given the scenario we're exploring, so why don't they update the dates to the next ship on the schedule (and we know they know they schedule - we've seen it posted here). Or, even better, simply say "dates for the additional steps will be provided once the carrier has selected your car for transport"?
So you either have a failure to adequately manage the business performance of a key vendor (pretty bush league), a failure to properly manage their customers' expectations, or a combination of the two. No matter which of these it is, it's still something none of us should find acceptable.

I get the frustration and the logical things you can’t get answers to are the worst part. And nobody can answer why.
They started building my GTS in November 2022. I watched as many other GTS and T’s and other cars got completed when I was missing a part or component. We finally figured out from Germany it was an Aero kit, but again the logical part is why are other cars starting a build months after me and getting an Aero kit and getting completed. Never understood this.
My original delivery date was January 13th and I’m now on a ship. It’s been rough to say the least and it sucks you are going through this on the shipping side.
So in total is the transport truck gets my car to Omaha soon after the port it will be about a 7 month delay from my original delivery. I’m sure the second I’m in the car all of this will be forgotten but I empathize to everyone watching ships come and go. I saw three ships depart to Houston while I was in Emden without my car getting on and that disappointment refreshing TYD and not seeing it move to the next step.
Some how I get lucky and make the SFL Conductor…but now it’s been sitting anchored just outside the port of Vlissingen for almost a full day. Hope it’s just in a line to get fuel? 😕
Hoping you guys get your cars soon. I know it must be frustrating for those with cars seemingly in limbo. Mine is finally en route to my dealer from Jacksonville so will sign out from this thread. Cheers all.

this bodes an interesting question for this group. We talk a lot about the wait for car is getting onto Boats, but I’m curious how long do car sit at Port once off the boat? My came off Cicero in Baltimore yesterday and don’t know if it’s days weeks or months until it gets on a truck to the dealer. Any general rules? Assume tyd is not accurate….
I know this may not be part of this thread since it's a different model, but I ordered a 2024 Cayenne S Coupe that got to the port and made the boat either the same day or next day and is arriving this weekend. Maybe there are other decisions on what cars make the boats!

Salt on an open wound. Your MY24 is going to be on US soil soon, and we have MY23s sitting in Germany at the port for months now.

My SA was hypothesizing that the new Cayenne were taking priority at Emden. Maybe he was right...
