I'm thinking I can shave off 1-2 seconds per lap in the 992 GT3RS off my PBs.
How are your 4RS lap times comparing at BW for instance?

The brakes are the single weak link on that car- the power is relentless, it's the first Ferrari with 'great' steering.

Hey guys, when is expected the next round of allocations? I know they just released some of them in June/July, so maybe Sept/Oct?

My ultimate best lap time was 1:51.2 in my 991.2 GT3RS on 13CW but my my personal bet lap on 13CW at BW in a Cayman car is a 1:53.5 in my 981 GT4 on RE71Rs (with catless headers, TB/Intake, full suspension, and higher wing uprights). With no mods I ran a 1:54.1 in the GT4RS getting used to the car (only done 2 track days at BW so far). I think if I push the car hard along with the suspension mods and higher wing uprights I can get a lap time in the 1:51s (I drive about 8/10th as I have a health fear of crashing and hurting myself).

I'm about as chicken as they come on the track, but based on your 981 video years ago and you sending it on Phil Hill, I would not have guessed that about you! BW is an interesting track in that power doesn't really seem to help reduce lap times as much as you'd expect. There's a very good non-WP white 4RS driver (haven't met him in person yet) that also hasn't beat his 718 GT4 time in his 4RS yet, but I think it's just a matter of time / cooler weather that he will. My sense of the videos is that he could get to full throttle earlier in the regular GT4. 265/305s help too!

LOL come on now...no one who claims to have been a track rat for years does this when trying to set PBs. Trying to soften your times by saying you only went 8/10ths

Oh yeah, I also has a 265/285 square set up on the 981 GT4 and that PB happened on a nice cool 60s temperature day. The GT4RS is a sub 1:50 lap car but just not sure I got enough ***** to push the car that hard.

Even though most of the tracks that I go to locally don't have many walls, I'm still scared of going off and damaging the car and more importantly hurting myself. I know guys who have ***** of steal that drive on the edge that have lap times 2-3 seconds faster than mine in the same cars and when I compare their data to mine I can see that I lift where they are on throttle and where I break earlier as they break later and for less time so the data tells me I'm holding back (due to fear as I mentioned). There are spots on these tracks where I'll push the car harder than other spots because if I go off I'll only dust up the car but going off in other spots (especially where you can pick up some significant time on a lap) may cause significant damage to the car (this is where I've seen cars flip, hit a wall or corner work stand, or take front/rear bumpers off). At my local and favorite track, the fastest guys running 991.2 GT3RSs are putting down 1:48-1:49 lap times where my personal best was a 1:51. I'm not going to lie, that car was scary fast on track to me. At the end of the day even though I want to better my lap times, my biggest win is bringing the car and myself back home in the same condition that I left the house.

Exactly, so you're driving 10/10 for yourself, quickest you can get around the track within your own skill/risk limits. Everyone should stay within their limits. One guy's 10/10 is another guy's 7/10.

You will be quicker in new GT3 RS if you are comfortable carrying speed thru the corners. That’s where this car excels, if you drive it like your 991.2 RS will go about the same lap times, have to be comfortable braking less and carrying speeds to take advantage of aero.

I'm right there with you. I used to run hard and searched for the fastest laps, now I just enjoy being consistent and safe.

So maybe better said I'm going at my 10/10th comfort limit but about 8/10th of the cars limit beacuase I'm afraid to push it any harder.

My favorite local tracks are more technical, slower but do have fast sweeping turns (both on and off camber) and that is where the GT3RS will shine and pick up time with the big aero.

Once I got to where my lap times were only improving by tenths of seconds instead of seconds, I focused more and having fun hanging out with my track friends.
