There is a lot of speculation here. I had heard porsche will continue building 3RS into calendar year 2025. Why do we think they must be completed by end of 2024?

Default Allocations

All of the S/T’s must be completed by 12/31/24 because that is the end date for EPA/Dot,ROW etc, certification. It apparently cost millions to get a car certified. That could be that same issue for other cars like the RS.

That is again a lot of subjective interpretation of whats heard here. The reason for ST date is CA and that porsche cant certify that car because of its transmission there. And because america laws being what they are, just because of CA, they wont sell ST to 49 other states. And because of all the logistics, they have this drop dead date of december. This doesnt apply to other cars. I have yet to hear credible info on RS ending production (or spyder rs or gt4rs) by december.

Contrary, my GM’s info is that 3RS will be produced into calendar year 2025.

That only applies to the S/T because of the manual and because of Commifornia

I definitely have a confirmed allocation. I have a commission number. It's not at V200 yet because I am waiting on PTS approval so it sits at V110.

Sadly, $80k was <21% deposit.

From past posts etc, @cosmos appears to be well connected within PAG somehow so he has credibility in my view.

Let’s be clear. If you have a comm number chances are you’re okay. The issue is delays are possible 12 weeks out now. Priority is for the S/T and as I said RS parts will be taken, cars will be heavily delayed or not produced. If September goes as planned…..all should be fine. And I have said unlike the S/T there will be RS cars leaving the factory after January.

If you are talking EPA and CARB certification, that happens every year for every trim.

It’s a self certification paperwork drill.

3RS is already at 1700+ cars produced which is more than the 991.2 3RS for North America and will continue being produced for Q1 and Q2 2025, there are no certification issues like the S/T. Only issues are production ones such as the carbon doors that have had problems.

My status is V200 with a comm number so sounds like I'll be fine. I doubt the car will arrive in November as scheduled due to parts delays so if it gets delayed by a few months no worries as track season goes through May out here on the west coast.

I think I predicted that Porsche will sell 2,000 to 2,500 GT3RS for North America a while ago and looks like we are gonna get there.

They'll be building the GT4RS & SRS well into 2025, I'm sure of that.

They always build more then you think they will. every single time. I do not know why people are still thinking thats not the case. We have almost 10 years of data saying they are going to make more GT cars then the last gen.

It's the newbies that think that the newest version is going to be some special limited production car, guess it makes them feel good. For old timers like you and me, we know that Porsche builds more GT cars every version. I'll go out on a limb and say they'll build more 992.2 GT3/Tourings than 992.1 GT3/Tourings.
