So yea, why should a dealer trust you without documentation of who you are and where you live?
It does make a little sense about only wanting to sell locally and I was happy to show my ID showing I was local. I’m just not sure what my current car or insurance has to do with anything?
I even asked what happens for someone who doesn’t own a car currently, are they not allowed to purchase a car from this dealer? He said that’s never happened the entire time he’s worked there and would have to get special approval to bypass policy.
What’s the normal process for getting on a waitlist for an allocation? My local dealer wants me to give them a copy of my current registration and car insurance in order to get a form for a deposit to be put on a waitlist.
No idea how my current registration or insurance could have anything to do with my willingness or ability to purchase a new car? Feel like I’m about to get my info stolen by my local brand ambassador, is this common?
Clarification: this wasn’t for a GT3, wasn’t even for a 911. Just figured this thread could give me the most realistic view of what the most complicated waitlist requirements should be.
Thanks everyone, going to be looking at other dealers nearby instead.
Any update on recent ADMs? Local dealer wants 190k over.
Local dealer must be lost in reality. Plenty of used ones with 50-200 miles, 285-330k stickers, going for $400,000-$480,000. A 190k ADM will be more expensive than any of those pristine cars. Only potential value I could see is if it’s some confirmed PTS car which I doubt it is.
I know of a PTS car that went for well over $200k ADM, but with so very few (about 100) 992 RS being PTS, it was well bought.
This is the reality. The 992.1 RS was never meant to be this limited. The supply issue of carbon doors, etc, and the fact that Porsche still has over 1000 S/T to build, the 992.2 is starting production and so on, has really crimped the production and supply of these cars.
Ultimately the market will dictate, but with summer just starting and the economy for now kind of still chugging along, nothing looks in the near term to reverse this trend of ADM.
If you find a car you like and despite maybe not wanting to, but being able to pay for it, buy the car! Enjoy life.

Would be great if they built more 3RS's and less stupid cars like the Dakar.
Production completed on my 3RS 2 days ago and I just had this photo uploaded. Hoping for some more and then the near 2 month wait to arrive in Australia (has to go down past the cape of South Africa).
I don't think I've seen any photos the same as this? All others seem to be from a different stage and angle so maybe something new?

This is a common view. Some receive all 4 production shots. Others just one.
I received this one, "Paint Shop" and the next one, "Body Work", but not the other 2.
